My best wishes go to Jimmy and his Family at this sad time.

Champions at last. Now for the last 3 games, perhaps my team will now open up and play like they did at the start of the season. GOALS PLEASE... make Jimmy proud.

Deserved? They score a goal then sit on their overpaid overhyped backsides in front of their goal to defend a narrow lead. An absolute disgrace, if I had my way that boring style of football would be illegal in the modern game of football.

How is it boring? as l am sure many other Premier League clubs would like to be in the same position.

Its very sad news for all Spurs fans about Jimmy, He was an elite footballer who scored goals without any hype that goes on today.

Yes, he celebrated. But In the glory days of Spurs, you never hear of any complaints when they got fouled.

Players of his calibre and quality, brings shame on players of today, that takes diving as an everyday event.

Get well soon mate - Up the Spurs

Yes, Chelsea won the game, due to a dubious penalty.

Not only that Chelsea can buy ANY player in the world. Yes, they are a boring side. And the most cheats play for them

Its would surprise me if Mounrinho gets Manager of the year With John Terry Footballer of the year.
Nothing surprises me about anything today in football

They are all overpriced footballers, who play for for 90 minutes and earn 300.000 grand a week.

And expect fans to pay a disgraceful amount of money to go and watch them

ALL football clubs, should think of the fans when making an entrance fee. Its like when clubs get promoted - they get Sky and BT money, plus advert money.

See at the end of the day WE pay for that in our entrance fee and Subs for watching it on TV

l cannot answer that Adzil as the last team that lost 9 or 10 in a roll was Wimbledon and they went down.

What are your thoughts on Newcastle with regards to now and in the future?.

I think every player bar a select few have gotten themselves transfer listed. I believe it could continue as the mess it is or we'll hold Carver true to information that there's going to be massive investment in the summer ranging to as high as £70 million. Cabella, Ayoze, Dr Jong, Krul are the only permanent first teamers I think are safe. Colo and Krul were involved in a bust up the other night, Colo's Newcastle career is certainly finished come season's end.

I swear the coaches at Newcastle keep the team training apart. You'd certainly believe so. I think that's another issue at Newcastle. We're one of the best for turning great players into crap.

Lastly. The lads currently on the pitch have no respect or desire to impress a manager whom is awful and secondly will not be the manager come summer.

One win or three draws would keep Newcastle up. You have the issue though that a lot of the bottom five are playing each other in the last few days. Sunderland have the worst possible set. Going to Stamford bridge on the last day knowing a loss could send you down. Albeit a Chelsea side with nothing to gain.

Sad to see QPR relegated, imo if Harry had still been there they might have shown more spirit. Now to see what happens with this financial penalty they owe and what happens if they refuse to pay it.

I assume if they refuse and are thrown out of the Football League, would they then have to apply to join further down the pyramid, or what?

I would like to propose a certain Welshman for that accolade, just count the medals. ;)

That's just the thing isn't it, he won medals with poor teams, it's easy to win things surrounded by other great players and I don't recall giggs ever putting in the inspirational performances Gerrard did, the only one who came close was Keane imo.

FA Cup semi final v Arsenal . ;)Has won a record 13 top division English league titles as a player, and only Manchester United player to have winner's medals from all 13 Premier League title wins.
Most Premier League appearances for a player, with 632.[158][not in citation given] [159]
Most Premier League assists (accurate records are only available from 2002 onwards).[160]
Only player to have played in 22 successive Premier League seasons.
Only player to have scored in 21 successive Premier League seasons.
Only player to have scored in 17 different Champions League tournaments (includes 11 consecutive tournaments, 1996–97 to 2006–07; only Raśl has a better record with 14)
Most goals by a British player in the Champions League/European Cup proper history, and 14th overall (not including preliminary rounds).[161]
Most UEFA Champions league appearances.
Most appearances by a Manchester United player.
Most starts by a Manchester United player, started in 794 games.
First player to score 100 Premier League goals for Manchester United.
Second midfielder to have scored 100 goals in the Premier League for a single club (first being Matt Le Tissier).
One of four Manchester United players to win two Champions League Medals (others are Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Wes Brown).
Oldest (37 years, 289 days) player to score in the Champions League, when he scored against Benfica on 14 September 2011.[85]
One of two Manchester United Players to win at least 10 Top division medals (the other one is Paul Scholes.)

And TBH I would pick Shearer in my all time greatest before Gerrard every time. Alan Shearer played teams that on paper were inferior to most if the teams Gerrard played in as well.

So we're in agreement then, it's much easier to win things when you're surrounded by great players. I agree with you about shearer he is right up there imo with the giants of premier league football, he didn't win anything with the inferior teams he played for though, just the really good one, oh and that semi final goal was just that, a great goal, did he do much in the rest of the game, can't recall it that well myself?

So if he had joined Chelsea and won a few league titles he wouldn't be your best ever premier league player?

Who cares? I want to know who this player is that is supposedly playing hide the sausage with a teammates girlfriend. Paper says it is a current international and captain of his team, who slept with the girlfriend of a foreign teammate. So that rules out John Terry being back in his naughty ways.

Nope he still would be, he'd just have the medals his talent fully deserves plus the hammers would have a shiny new fa cup in the cabinet

We now need 2 points, maybe only 1, to secure automatic qualification for the Champions League. The qualifying teams have become harder recently.

Just back in from OT, decent game all round. United much the better team in first half but needed a second goal. Arsenal came into it in second half and a draw was a fair result. It was also the score I predicted before kick off.

As for Giggs v Gerrard, Giggs has the most assists 270+ in the history of the Premiership, Gerrard ranks around 9th even Darren Anderton has more. Frank Lampard is in second place with 160+.

Assists is a ridiculous statistic, there's a reason why we only started collecting them as a stat after 1992 and it's because they're baloney, case in point being ozil, he set up every goal Madrid ever scored, what's he done at arsenal

Re: Football Season 2014/15

As is the premise that Gerrard played in poor teams, he played alongside some of the best strikers in the Premiership, Owen, Fowler, Suarez etc. To only manage just over 100 assists with forwards like that must say something. And the original premise was that Gerrard was the best player in the 'Premiership', in fact he saved his best moments for the FA Cup ( v West Ham ) and Champions League in Istanbul.

Apart from a few brief flourishes like last season ( and he blew that ) he can't have done that well in the league or Liverpool would have done better than they have. He is a great player but is a long way from the best ever Premiership player, IMHO of course. ;)
