I equally think they must finally realise the defence needs strengthening. Hope they buy some quality

It'll be Di Canio or Kenny Dalglish. Mike Ashley isn't kind enough to leave Kinnear in charge. David Moyes looks a good bet though.

Yep it's nothing to do with Sunderland its something dafter than that. Mike Ashley and his goons are angry that local papers and the sun covered a mob of fans demanding Mike Ashley to go.

I blame whole defence.

What puzzles me, is, is there anyone doing defensive coaching?

Some of the decision making is shocking.

Take the last incident, though Hart was at fault, nasty should have at least tried to clear it out of the park...not play silly buggers. I see that with other defenders too. Not even doing the basics.

Norwich City can do one. They've become the first club to snub Newcastle on 20 quid away tickets. 35 quid instead. Hopefully Newcastle or Swansea can get a club like Arsenal or United to agree to it and the others should follow suit.

Actually Norwich City are subsidizing the tickets for fans to travel to Newcastle - £17.50 - for all away games they have either discounted the tickets or offered discounted or free travel.

This includes the ridiculous £46 being charged by Man Utd for the League Cup tonight so it is a policy that works better for Norwich fans than individual clubs offering discounts

It might work better for them but what about the rest of us? We offered them the away tickets for 20 quid on the condition Newcastle fans were to be charged only 20 quid in the reverse. Instead they declined and decided charging us 35 quid upwards would be more appropriate. It's pure greed from Norwich. They expect their fans to be discounted but won't return the favour.

He wouldn't have to if a world class striker was brought in. We have Park on the bench, a total waste of time. Arsene would be better off taking a leaf out of Big Sams book playing a CB upfront. Verm was once a striker. This is boring, everybody knows Arsenal are short. This is what happens when things don't add up.

Whats strange about Bendtner is his goal scoring record for Denmark is nuts considering his crap for club.

Manager of the year. Safest bet is one of the Germans. Klopp or Bayerns previous.

Adam Armstrong at NUFC Academy has just scored his 7th England U17 goal in his fifth outing. England doesn't produce players? Nope Haha this is where he doesn't get an opportunity at Newcastle and ends up at Hartlepool FC or something. If he does get an opportunity at Newcastle there's no doubt he'll be sold to Liverpool for £40m

Cabaye has been told he'll be sold in January's window or the summer imo. It's not confirmed but we reckon that's the case along with Colo who's made no secret in his intentions to leave.

Typical Chelsea atm. Look no further for the league winners. Also bare in mind both teams aren't playing their best players but like I've said before, Chelsea have a destructive midfield and with Torres seemingly alive again.

Quick question as I'm at work and it's annoying to google. Have Chelsea actually lost a home game under Mourinho in the league? I believe not due to his home record being ended at Real but I'd rather be sure.

That in a nutshell is Bendtner. Pass it away from goal lol or stop team mates from scoring.. yup hes done that before, a goalline clearance he tried a smart ass flick when the ball was clearly going in.

I don't think arsenal should be that disappointed. It's only the league cup and to be fair wengers put a team out there asking to be beat. Arsenal can now prioritise the league and champions league. Chelsea can rest players and still put a hefty squad out so that's just the way it is.

Well that can't happen tonight. Besides Chelsea have that depth because they can afford to keep players like Mata on a 2nd string team.

so youre telling me Arsenal cannot get a world class striker in? you said you go to AST meetings so you should know how much wage spend has been cleared. Arsenal can afford a lot more than you think.

I am saying we don't have the squad depth. Chelsea have a better squad depth. We can afford a world class striker but we still wouldn't have as many class players as they doing sitting in the reserves. Chelsea played the better team tonight and won. I am more concerned about the game at the weekend.

theres nothing confusing about it. you say the golf between Arsenal and Chelsea is vast when it isnt if you think.about it. add those that are injured into a PL squad and you have 1 hell of a bench with a couple not making the 18 man squad. having world class striker would have meant Giroud would have played tonight. we have been talking 1 or 2 players short for years and years why is that? the resources are there. its without a doubt there now.

The gulf is that they have better squad players. I think we can compete with our first 11 but then it declines. Arsenal have done well this season, cut them a break.

Instead they declined and decided charging us 35 quid upwards would be more appropriate. It's pure greed from Norwich. They expect their fans to be discounted but won't return the favour.

How can it be pure greed - It's costing Norwich to subsidize their fans to go to away games - not just Newcastle but Man Utd last night, Man City this weekend and a number of other games. It will cost them more doing this than it would to provide discounts to Newcastle fans.

I got a ticket for 17.50 rather than the 20 it would have cost had we accepted the Newcastle proposal. No reason for Newcastle not to discount their fans to go to Norwich.

Stability goes along way too.

I'm getting really fed up with Wenger. Yesterday was tragic. He got owned by Jose yet again. No one likes to lose but if youre defeated in a manner you can only respect fair enough, that wasn't the case last night though. I really don't know when Arsene Wenger will get a proper squad together.

Another concern is the amount of injuries that occur. Its crazy. A lot of it in my opinion is players being burnt out, over done because of the lack of depth but there are also a fair few pointing fingers at the backroom staff. Things havent been the same since Gary Lewin left.

denphone 30-10-2013 15:24

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

Yes l agree with the burning out of players and Wenger is one of the worse at this and it will cost him dear later on in the season.

Re: Football Season 2013/14 & Summer Window

the thing to balance, and this is where you make the real bucks is balancing things. a fair few years ago Wenger use to rest players out of nowhere then that player would come back firing. the balance is between that and having start stability. its not an easy job but thats glory or failure.

Costing Norwich what? they were given 200k to subsidize away prices like every other team.
Even so that doesn't even matter because by ripping off every other team in the country for a trip to a garden shed they'll still turn a profit after subsidizing prices. Why would Norwich lose money rather than take 20 quid tickets? The whole point of this plan was to make tickets cheaper for the whole not for one.

As for Newcastle subsidizing their own. They could do but it would have a negative effect on their existing plan which is simply to offer every club in the league away tickets for 20 quid on the basis they receive the same back. Newcastle then spend the existing £200, 000 and whatever is needed from their own pocket to subsidize away travel. It'd work out rather cheap if you got away tickets for 20 quid and travel even cheaper.

Uefa has ordered a partial closure of CSKA Moscow's stadium after their fans racially abused Manchester City player Yaya Toure.

The sanction will apply to CSKA's next home match in the competition, against Bayern Munich on November 27.

Uefa issued a statement, saying: "The fight against racism is a high priority for Uefa. The European governing body has a zero-tolerance policy towards racism and discrimination on the pitch and in the stands. All forms of racist behaviour are considered serious offences against the disciplinary regulations and are punished with the most severe sanctions. Following the entry into force of the new disciplinary regulations on 1 June, the fight against racist conduct has been stepped up a level - resulting in more severe sanctions to deter any such behaviour."

Under the regulations, a second offence of racial abuse concerning spectators could result in a full stadium closure.
