there are a few that are selling to Usmanov having successfully negotiated a price for each share. Usmanov is offering more for each share than Stan did or has.

From a business point of view and overall fee for everything... so long as Usmanov buys that 1 share that put him dead 30% is cheaper than the rest he'll be ok. What I mean by that is whatever price Usmanov pays for that 1 share that puts him dead 30% will be the price he'll have to offer for each remaining share. Basically rules state Usmanov will have to put in a bid to take over once he reaches 30% and whatever price he paid for that share that took him to 30% will be the price he'll have to offer everyone for the takeover bid.

Define shady.

If other teams get sponsorship...through other than strictly commercial means, is that shady?

Could possibly other teams have gotten some sponsorship that way?

Or is it the amount?

And, how would they prove it? Presume a sponsorship should only be a certain amount? Say based on fan size, turnover? Ultimately that could punish smaller clubs. And how to count fan base, purely through the gates?

---------- Post added at 08:28 ---------- Previous post was at 08:27 ----------

And financial fair play is spurious...it favours teams that have already built a fan base, over many yearts using whatever means

The smart rumour mongers always leave a little wiggle room. 'Almost done', 'last details to sort out' etc. Then they can claim it fell though. It turned out that we actually had minimum contact with Rennes this summer and certainly never made a bid or a contract offer.

Or he made it up. People on Twitter are mad. I would be inclined to believe it if he had a good track record but why would he be privy to certain information? We went though this last season with all the players we were meant to have signed then which didn't happen. Where did he post this new story then since he has been 'shut down'...

No. I believe information when it's from a credible source. Someone who has a track record of getting things right and those tend to be in the days leading up to the signing being announced by the club because that's when a deal is being made.

Remember last year? M'Vila being done? Van Persie's new contract being done? Vertonghen? We had this same argument last year and you mocked it then and none of that happened. Every single window you lecture me on what 'I want to believe' because I don't believe that Twitter is a dependable source and each time the deals didn't happen.

When have these people being right? Has there been a single instance of a transfer being broken on Twitter from someone who wasn't already a professional sports reporter? Podolski was broken from the German press.
But I hope Villa happens let's see.

Because all these reliable sources on Twitter have been wrong each time. To be reliable you need to have gotten things right. Until someone has a track record of breaking reliable stories then I will be interested but deeply suspicious.

Actually yeah, he is close to the club but gets a lot of things wrong. I was just using him as an example of a journalist. David Ornstein would be a better example. (he does have a record of getting things right).

But at the end of the day my point is more that all these people on Twitter were wrong. Each time. So that's why I don't believe them.

People do, but it gets lost in your moans, which is what I have been trying to tell you.

I am not trying to stop you all together, just start a new thread. So people can chat about actual news and their club.

Meh, Let's just say I got it from an agent.

Demba Ba will be moving in January, Liverpool or Arsenal

Theo Walcott will be staying till the summer.

I really do hope this is just something he pulled from his backside.

The best thing is not to believe things until they actually happen because as we know the trusty old media have a habit of inventing stories.

Football time,

If any of you Arsenal lot want to know how I got the information about Demba Ba's move to you or Liverpool or Theo's contract information, feel free to drop or ask for a PM. Same goes for any eager Liverpool fan :D

Arsenal should hammer these lot.

Do you not have the HD package or am I missing something here?

Anyway your game is 50/50 today, could go either way. A win would ease the nerves you have I bet, Dependent on the Wigan result, you could end up in the Relegation zone. Good luck :)

Yes Kone does not seem to be the most natural of goalscorers.

Have to agree for my own clubs sake, Whilst we won't technically end up in the Relegation zone at the end of today, Wigan/Sunderland/Southampton can overtake us.

Assuming we don't win our 3pm kickoff, at least one will overtake us because of Sunderland playing Southampton.

A loss for us and a draw for Sunderland would take them above us. Southampton win would send them above us etc.

I'm failing to see the point of a 10 yard wall if the referee just

1) fails to recognize what 10 yards is
2) lets them jump forward 5 yards in full view of him
