Re: Virgin TV (2024)

Been given a new deal with virgin media which is reasonable. Have to pay for BT sports however which I knew about. My questions are:

1) has anyone managed to get money off Bt sports (TNT sports) if your contract is nearly over and you’re on the max package or is it a fight I can’t win?

2) do I have to move to the new 360 box or has anyone managed to keep the v6?

3) do retentions bother these days or shall I just go with the offer I had via email?

Mum doesn’t really want to lose her recordings but we may have to as my bill doubles in August then our contract ends!

Any advice from the legends on here would be appreciated. None of the sarcasm people from certain people!

You can stay on V6 but you probably won't get as good a deal.

Cancel, refuse any renewal offer when you cancel and wait for a call back. I went from paying just over £90pm to £66pm - and kept Sky Sports / Cinema and TNT Sports.

Hope it works for you 🙏

What if it doesn't. Are you stuck with the cancellation?

Fortunately that has never happened! I got a call back within a couple of days. And I kept the V6.

Re: Virgin TV (2024)

Virgin Media viewers may lose TNT Sports UK on August 1st if Virgin Media 02 and Warner Bros Discovery don't sign a new deal.

One source said the companies were in “hot dispute” as:

*Virgin Media was seeking a significant price reduction for the new 3-year deal
*TNT is trying to maintain the existing terms.
*Eurosport will stay if new deal is not sign.

My renewal in March was the same package but on 360 less TNT and Viaplay... £64 which was an extension of prior contract. Just lost TNT

The Eurosport UHD pop-up service has been reconfigured and moved to a new transport stream. Presumably in preparation for coverage of the Olympic Games.
