He has a grip on his goalscoring, just not on his professionalism. It's worth remembering why he was unpopular at Arsenal last year. He was a bad presense in the dressing room, and his second season at Arsenal he gave up trying. He wouldn't run back from offside if Arsenal had a break, he wouldn't exert much effort on the pitch.

I think he has every right to do what he did after how he was treated at Arsenal, by some of the fans especially.

He was our best player today imo, a shame the ref made a horrendus decision which meant he had to be sacrificed for the team. A great win and we played our best football so far this season, excellent :tu:

No worse than United treat Berbatov. It was a silly thing to do and he was booked. He wasn'y treated that badly either, but after a while it became ridiculous. He was offside more than any other player in the league, understandable if your always attacking but not if you simply cannot be bothered to walk back onside.

He was often hanging back, not providing supports to Persie (whom he kicked today, again something he also does not have the right to do) or any other attackers.

So he got booed. It turned hostile after he had a go at Arsenal fans in a interview because of that booing and then it just descended.

Not all United fans treat Berbatov like Russ B does ;)

I just think if fans are prepared to give a player stick, they should expect it back and a player should be able to. Why should a player have to contain his emotion? It's not like he ran up to them shouting and swearing. He was given stick and he has proven he's still a quality player, he should be able to give some back to the Arsenal fans. I expect he will get a fine/ban like Neville did when he celebrated infront of the scousers, which in my opinion is ridiculous

I'll criticise him as I feel he deserves it. He can get all over the pitch, his workrate can be high etc but that's not what he's paid to do. He's a forward, a striker. His job is to score goals. So far he's been a massive flop on that score. Maybe he'd do better as an attacking midfielder, I don't know. But as a striker he deserves all the criticism he gets.

What I don't agree with is abuse. If I do my job badly I expect my boss to act on it. I would not expect abuse.

With donkey he doesn't seem to be cocky or making excuses like Adebayor so abuse is not the right way about it.

Oh yeah I understand his reaction. I think it's misplaced because the nature of that relationship with the fans was his own fault. I rarely see our own players booed at the Emirates, towards the end of last season a lot were being booed though.

I think what he did was stupid because he was trying to provoke a reaction and stomping (it true) on Van Persie is very unprofessional and vindictive. Shows we were right to sell him since improvement in the dressing room moral at Arsenal was attributed to him leaving. He used to dismiss and insult the other forwards for example. Especially Van Persie and Bentner.

You see at least Berbatov puts in the effort. I don't know why he is still in the team but whenever I see United play there isn't a slacker among them. Same with any decent team, I honestly don't know why Wenger put him in the team because it doesn't matter how good you are if you can't be bothered to play!

I agree that players should not be subject to abuse, especially from their own fans. I never understood that Gallas, although not booed, was disliked because I always rated him and Toure.

He was very good today, shame he had to go off, I mean Scholes can't tackle, but no way was that a Yellow. The Spurs player (Huddlestone?) was as much to blame, he went in, Scholes made an attempt to pull out, and his hand glanced his cheek, then we have to have rolling round holding face, pathetic.

Berbatov is dependent on what you expect, I see him as more a Bergkamp than a Nistelrooy. In that respect he has underwhelmed to a degree, I think his worth ethic is now starting to pick up, he was running the channels and coming into midfield today, his best game so far for me.

Anderson also started to look more like the lad we bought, his first time passing had Spurs all over the place. And if Rooney isn't the most complete player in Europe I would like to know who is.

I think the referee Mariner, was very poor in my view, there were many challengers that went unnoticed, for a game such as this, there should have been a stronger referee, he was giving out warnings instead of bringing out the book.

Also many challenges that should never have been freekicks or especially RED CARDS. Not sure if we can argue it or not, it was a crock. Thing is Arthur sometimes a few warnings keeps it flowing, it was an end to end game and one of the best I have seen in the Prem for some time. But then it is a typical Spurs v UTD game, same ethos, always great games with goals.

It depends on how many you expect, he caused havock again with his hold up play and assists. And bar a great save from their keeper would have scored an absolute stunner. They couldn't handle him in any way, totally unplayable. Him and Rooney are becoming unplayable. It's not quite Rooney/Ruud but it is coming.

Scoles has always been a bad tackler, also Vidic, but there again some refs are scared on Sir Alex, it was a great game, BUT we must have stronger referees.

What Mariner should have done, was booked the first bad tackle and there were plenty, especially when Vidic smacked a Spurs player round the face, and he got away with it.

I assume the Crouch challenge? Trouble is he is so ungainly, his arms are all over the place, Vidic was lucky on that last one, but then you have Crouch elbowing him in the face, it ends up a 50/50. I think anyone would have been naffed off to go when you take a smack in the face. I don't mind a ref letting stuff go when he does it for both teams. Once he starts flashing Yellow you end up with that idiotic display we had at Chelsea last year.

I like a competitive game, a throwback to the day when it was 11 men v 11 men.

Besides, half the challenges where on Lennon, and he runs like Phoebe, no wonder he ends up on his ass at the slightest challenge.........
