I've been up all night working on this and I think I've figured a workaround / crack for this N3 malarkay.

Here's a sample of the code I've come up with:

Payment of Direct Debit was successful
ATR String: 3F FF 95 00 FF 91 81 71 FE 47 00 44 4E 41 53 50
31 34 32 20 52 65 76 47 30 31 15
ROM Revision: 180
EEPROM Revision: Mer000
Acquisition of TV services was successful

I'm pretty sure it'll work - anyone fancy beta testing it?

LOL, classic :D

Any update on news? Anybody think the hackers will win, or will Virgin TV be for subscribers only?

Long term Virgin will win.

But this is all new so it will have to be tested - that won't be done quickly.

All Set Top Boxes and modems should have something similar to this fitted and when they are removed from the inventory a signal should be sent rendering them useless.

Oh most definitely they should be picked up or sent packaging to enable easy return of them.
