I wouldn't read too much into that! VM are probably trying to get their pound of flesh! Have Channel 5 actually got enough material worth repeating?

I am in Bishops Stortford just south of you - no idea which area i am in that is being updated - having a quick play with it - like the new menu options but so far no netflix. I have to read back to see if i have to reboot it manually. I am sure you will get it tonight mate.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.
After my update I also had no Netflix, I had to unplug the box from the socket and left it unplugged for about a minute or so, when I switched it back on the app was there :)

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.
Cheers - will try that - i already love Netflix so am looking forward to seeing it at its best.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.
Netflix has reached Enfield although as I have a V+ box its no big deal - they updated at 01.16 - why they do it at that time I cant work out as it split up some recordings - years ago the box would restart close to 05.00 so a more sensible time.
Until they allow TiVo to play back recordings in the background I will stick with the V+ box. box restarted again at 05.40 - not sure why . |

I am guessing that Netfix is the draw. Never use it so, I wish that this update had never happened

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.
I've tried comparing the range of programs and films that Netflix and Lovefilm offer. Lovefilm seems to have a larger range than Netflix when I look at the websites? The difference is so glaring that I wonder if I can't see all NetFlix's offerings and the full range is only visible to members?
Is this true or perhaps I missing something? Because if I'm not then I can't see any reason why I would choose Netflix over Lovefilm? |
Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.
i take it MGMHD didn't launch

Currently in terms of content Netflix is ahead, and Netflix's original programming has been better received than LoveFilm's so that's where my money is. That said I'm beginning to wonder how far away I am from reducing my Virgin package as low as it can go, or even cancelling, and subscribing to both. ---------- Post added at 09:47 ---------- Previous post was at 09:44 ---------- Quote:

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 5.
Yes, but if you get a 1TB TIVO box, you can put up to 500 hours of recordings on there without having to copy them all to your DVD recorder.

Something Richard has mentioned a few times. According to AsianChannel (pinch of salt rumour poster) Sky Arts 2/HD to close to make way for Sky Bravo/HD

More screens are now HD, enabling the small TV window to be part of the screen Better feedback on clashes on planned recordings Reorganising series links now works in the background instead of clogging up other tivo usage (reportedly; not tried it yet) Back to back recordings on the same channel only take up one tuner, even I you have padding added. The Tivo box is faster. Did you even bother to find out what the update did, or did you just fancy having a moan? |

Why not move BBC2 HD to 185, then you could have: BBC2 HD 185 BBC3 HD 186 BBC4 HD 187 or even move BBC Alba to 185, BBC2 HD to 186, & have the same pattern as with the additional ITV HD channels. |

This is largely overlooked for analogue recordings of SD content (ie via a SCART cable), which is what V+ does. So far as I am aware no PVR permits copying of HD material. |
