Idiot indeed but a years sentence is overboard. If he'd punched a bloke instead of a horse he'd probably have been given community service. Typically you throw some nut job animal fanatics into the mix and have the media hype him up like he's Mike tyson and this is the end result.

He'd have been fine if he had done a Suarez on the horse. Just ask asda.

He did, but unlike other people he has shown the quotes in context rather than just stand alone quotes like people trying to make big stories. Also he is allowed an opinion on players, he has one on Gerrard. He doesn't think hes a top top player, maybe by that he means players like Messi, Ronaldo (both), Maradona, Best etc. Would anyone really class Gerrard in that group? There hasn't been many headlines about how he tried to sign Gerrard, so obviously thought he was a good player, or how he spoke about Liverpool and their great tradition and fanatical support. I doubt Brendan Rodgers has even read the book, just seen the headlines.

I have to agree with Roy Keane for probably the first and last time ever. Without the players he had he wouldn't have gone down as the legend he is. This also works both ways however, without Sir Alex they'd be just as lost.

I dare not think of a Manchester United side that had won the battle for Alan Shearer and had signed Henry. Dear lord. The two best strikers to ever play in the premier league. Imagine sticking Henry and Ronaldo either side of Shearer.

But Sir Alex didn't have these two. He missed out on shearer thankfully but the point is he created a United legend in little Ole who then went on to win them the champions league in one of the most memorable finals ever. That's all owed to the genius that is Sir Alex Ferguson.

It would be like Chelsea criticising Drogba after that champions league final which he just straight up refused to quit despite having minutes left with a goal down. It led to Di Matteo getting more credit than he was due and Drogba being shown the door.

Chelsea would only offer him a 1 year contract whilst he wanted a 2 year contract. I'd probably leave too if someone else offered me thousands more after I'd just won a club a European cup and got no reward.

Damn I'm missing the old style premier league of Henry and Highbury. Xabi Alonso at Liverpool. European nights of Gerrard rifling home a bullet and Andy Gray reaching the point of orgasm. Wayne Rooney scoring 3 on his United debut. I even remember the most unpredictable left foot in the league in Laurent Robert. Didn't know if his 40 yard volleys were going over the stadium or in the top corner. He scored 2 against spuds in the same game. Sendings off at Highbury as Arsenal collapse to allow Newcastle a 3-1 win in the final minutes with shearer finally scoring.

Whilst I don't agree with sacking Moyes yet, What gave anyone the impression he's good enough to tackle the United job. He's spent near enough his entire career around mid table.

Any top class manager wouldn't be in this position with that team right now. Depleted or not. Why should United fans be patient when they've got the quality and money to have instant success. What do you think the new man city manager is doing? settling in or gunning for the league?

Let's not pretend Man United actually have limited funds. Moyes hasn't got a clue what to do with that amount of money. Mourinho or even any sane manager would have stolen Ozil from right under wengers nose when they realised he was available but here we are looking at the afro that cost more than his buyout clause. Ozil or Fellaini there's no need to compare is there.

The problem is Moyes is displaying the classic signs of being in WAY over his head. He may have done a decent job with a team like Everton but United is much bigger. We needed a manager with a track record of success at the highest level. That is not Moyes.

I'll give him credit for bringing possibly the best of out Rooney right now but is that the player's own doing as to advertise his services for January? It wouldn't shock me.

All the people sticking up for Moyes remind me of that Iraqi minister telling us there were no American tanks in Bagdad.

tbh the Fellaini deal was indeed a joke. look around Europe and youll find many decent players better than Fellaini, box to box. Arsenal, Utd and Bayern showed interest in Lars Bender but he wasnt for sale BUT he has a release clause kicking in at the end of this season which is under 15m euros, a bargain. why could Utd wait? if there were players at Everton to be nabbed it was probably Baines, Barkley. When the papers and "Experts" first started going on about Chelsea having too many players for the same position, specifically "Attacking midfielders" they assume we are buying them to keep others from doing so, as in the case of Willian. Just looking at Spurs and Arsenals squads I'd say they have at least the same amount of attacking options in that position, if not more. The same if you look at the overall total of midfielders each has. They all have a few that can play in various positions as well. Equally United and City could also probably match them. I'd say that the managers of all the clubs I've mentioned would be in the same position of keeping everyone happy.

Player form has to play a big part of team selection. Mata started the season without a full pre-season behind him, and looked off the pace to be honest. Jose has the players to replace him so he used them. We're all only 8 league games in so far mate, and with all the cup games and internationals there's still at least 40-50+ to go. They'll all get their chance and play. We already have one out for the season so anything can happen. For getting picked by form you just need to look at Ramsey. Who'd have thought he'd be the one of the first names on the team sheet after the last couple of seasons! At the moment he seems undroppable, and even gets rested instead of being dropped! That boys come a long way and all credit to him for it.

yup. i think its evident now that the width in Theo and Ox is missed. still though its not a good enough excuse to warrant this crap. Wenger needs to be delivering seeing as he's so adamant this squad can win things.

Just back in from OT, United have reverted to last seasons successful formula, play crap at the start, gift the opposition a scrappy goal then fight back.

It has not been great watching them this season and I must say the first 45 minutes was about the worst I have seen for a very long time, could have subbed all 11 at the break. Stoke did revert to type later on, chopping down anything that moved near them.

Not really fair to blame Moyes, they where very poor last season at the start as well, everyone else just played worse last time.

I think United are lucky. As already said, if that had been One of the current top four that'd have been finished at half time.

I think blaming and calling it a bad squad is hilarious. Rooney and RVP alone are worth more than that Stoke team. It seems to me select groups with blame anything but Moyes.
