That comment seems a little unfair on braysoj1, ocav. MB posted news of Channel's 4 and 5 gaining licences and he only mentioned the freeview platform too. MB's post number is #4716, and the info was found by braysoj1!!!

I was pleased to hear the freeview news, it's the only good news we have received recently:)

I think it safe to say that Channel 4 +1 HD will not be launching after all.

Looking on the Ofcom more I think they are moving from two licences to one licence for that Broadcaster.

I mean that new licence for Channel 4 will be for the following channels:

-Channel 4
-Channel 4 +1
-Channel 4 HD.

Freeview News: True Entertainment launches on Freeview (Not in Wales).

True Entertainment is joining Freeview from 6am Tuesday, except in Wales, in the second round of changes on Freeview this month.

Disappointing to hear about C4 +1HD not launching, I am always hopeful they will roll out Film Four +1HD. I thought this might have been the first step towards that:(

I have just got off the phone to Virgin. The sky package for 2 boxes was £72.25. Virgin have offered a reduction to £74.74 including an upgrade to 60 meg broadband. At least the saving will pay for visits to the pub to watch BT Sports matches if I need to..James in customer Services seemed genuine and sincere. He even accepted that both sides are to blame for the BT Sport fiasco..

So I will stay..but hope they will get BT Sport, although without Virgin I think BT Sport will lose money hand over fist...!

If BT Sport was added as a standalone subscription channel on VM the amounts they would make from this would literally be a drop in the ocean for BT , this is all about attracting people to a BT landline and broadband.

However, they are giving away free subscriptions for a year. How many will they hang onto after a year, when they start charging a subscription fee for BT sport!

I think BT sport is much too big a thing for anyone to leak because of the uproar and controversy surrounding it that no one would risk leaking anything about it. Also i think the only people in the know will be very high up directors who know what is going on with the negotiations.

The higher ups will be happy to tell staff about channel launchs of GINX and +1 channels because if something goes wrong there wont be much uproar. We'll always get leaked this type of information.

But for something so big as BT sport i dont think we'll ever hear anything until it launches. Far too confidential.

Very true...

In the meantime, what do people think of this for accessing BT Sports etc?

Unless it is free next year too.

My plan is to drop BT sport, if they start charging.

My understanding is it'll only remain free if you re-contract and commit yourself to a further 12 months.

Ask them what will happen after 12 months? My understanding is that the contract is for 18 months?

It is. But from memory 18 months is only 6 months more than 12 :D

That's right, and how many others will decide they don't want if faced with a subscription!
