Yeah, making people pay for a product they supply, what a bunch of con artists.

If you don't like it, don't take up the offer - no guns are being held to any heads....;)

What part of, "It's a raffle, only a 1000 people will win" don't people understand?

The ones who didn't get a free Tivo weren't 'conned', they just didn't win the raffle; there were way more that didn't win than those that did.

I've found this whole thing pretty frustrating and doubt my initial vent on this forum made much of a difference. What annoyed me most was people being given it free ahead of people who actually want it and would pay.

This has been a sad and sorry debacle by Virgin over Tivo, it has been a shambolic exercise from December onwards and they have treated existing customers very poorly over this.

That is really OTT in my opinion. I would say VM should have been clearer on their deployment policy for those who registered i.e. Tivo1 owners, VIPs, then 1000 winners of draw, then the rest who registered before new customers are permitted. That is the one area where there could have been better organised in communicating to customers.

But apart from that they have been overwhelmed with interest in Tivo and my only concern is that I can order this month as a pre-reg. People just need to chill out and wait the email I guess now.

If you don't want the Tivo then stay with a V+ or wait until the cheaper Tivo is released. Perfectly good options, its not like the V+ I've had for a few years and been very happy with as suddenly become obsolete.

for all those moaning about not winning the raffle spare a thought for those of us that didnt even get an invite into the raffle ....

you think you were hard done by there are plenty of VIP customers like myself not included at all :dozey: ... and before you say we had a raffle of our own .. i have yet to see proof that the VIP only raffle even existed as all raffles and draws so far included XLTV customers not just VIP customers

saying that ... i must be immune to all the TiVo shines out the backside brainwash because i have yet to be convinced it offers anything worth having beyond a V+ box to myself and my viewing habits ... its just a PVR nothing more and nothing less and does not matter how many bells and whistles it has it is only as good as the content it carries and that in TiVos case just means more repeats of the same content ... nothing new

VM get ya finger out and tell us VIPers this new so called improved package as that is of more interest to myself now more than unimpressive tivo

I have a Season 1 Tivo so know how potentially good this VM Tivo could be so don't agree with you on that point but all the rest on VIP and being in a draw etc I am totally with you on.

I have in my head what the email is going to be on 31st March/April 1 when we have not heard about the new VIP bundles and the fact I have not had a raffle ticket etc.
The only way they can get out of it in my eyes is we as VIPers get an email saying register for your free Tivo therefore getting what the other existing VIP Tivo owners have now just we got it a bit later.

No l don,t think l am being over the top far from it, Virgin have mislead and treated existing customers very poorly and we still do not what so called deal they have in stall for existing customers or if their is one at all.

Its action and deeds that count not vague promises and words and Virgin have always been very slow in backing up their words and promises. Also Virgin do not look after their existing customers very well.

I'm a VM customer as well and just don't see it as that serious, communication could have been better yes so not saying VM did this launch 100% right as they certainly didn't, but it is not exactly the end of the world if you were not in the first batch of deliveries or didn't win one in the raffle. I don't think VM were expecting 50,000+ to register an interest on what is clearly a soft launch using advanced test software, they've been caught out by demand volume IMHO.

Chill out is all I say, we will still get Tivo before new customers can and the pricing will be £149 (£50 less than new customers so an advantage for existing customers) + £40 install + £3 per month. If that is too much for some, then wait a year for the price to come down maybe, or go for the lower cost box or just sit back and enjoy the V+/VHD box until VM replace then as well over the next few years, as is the expectation.

Anyway, back to business, still waiting a call or email to order, with 3 tuners activated I'm all ready to go now.

Some new customers have already been given a TiVo!
