Does anyone know if, when the Tivo is attached to the TV by HDMI, it also plays back on the SCART socket, if so I can attach my recorder to that and just replay individual programmes that I wish to archive with the TV switched off. I could experiment I know but don't want to plug things in and out only to find it doesn't, idle I know, but the old knees ain't so flexible any more.:(

Yes, HDMI and scart are both active, so you can do it that way

Yeah I realise that I was thinking (perhaps wrongly) from Gavin-D's post that someone had said an e-mail was going out to everyone on that date.

Thanks for the reminder about the e-mails going out in batches I had forgotten that - there's so much to remember in this thread!

That's from the comp email not the pre-reg email:

We’ll be in touch around the end of March to let you know how you can get the TiVo service before it goes on general sale. For now, you can sit back, relax and wait for all the good stuff to come to you.

It's cool having three red lights on the front of the box though. I'm glad they decided to allow us to record three things at once

That's pretty impressive being able to do that a definite tick on the feature list.

At least the lack of HD channels isn't a concern for you. :)

Yes, but only a select few will receive it - the rest need to wait for the carrier pigeon to deliver their order form ;)

If we had our Tivos we'd have something to discuss and most of the 'silly posts' would dissapear :) :D

Surely, a little humour never hurt?

Re: TiVo

A question re channel buffering if I may. I would have assumed that if no programmes were being recorded, that the other tuners would be on the last two channels that were on. In other words, if you switch the box on and enter 101, then change to 102 and then change to 103 obviously one tuner is on 103 the channel you are watching, I thought the other two would be on 101 and 102 and buffering them. This doesn't seem to be the case however, the other tuners just seem to assign themselves to a random channel and stay there.
As an example, last Saturday (in the old days when we only had two tuners!) I wanted to watch the Rugby but have the other tuner buffering the football, so if I flicked over and had missed a goal I could rewind it. But despite constantly flicking between those two channels the other tuner obstinately stuck on E4 or some other rubbish. The only way I could get it to do what I wanted was to record both programmes to "force" the tuners to be where I wanted them.
This still seems to be the case with three tuners instead of two.
Is there a way of assigning another tuner to be on a particular channel without actually recording that channel?
Sorry if that's a bit long winded, but hope it makes sense!
