I said the advert breaks were short...maybe not. That one just seemed broadcast channel length... :erm:

Not watched anything on Pluto yet so not sure how long they are on there.

Can you watch IMdbTV without logging into an Amazon account?

It's free to both prime and non Prime subscribers but you still need to log in to an amazon account

Thought that might be how it worked. Many thanks.

Ugh, adverts, not been bothered by them for many years, they were really irritating, glad to be rid of them.

When I booted up Pluto TV on a couple of different devices today both had Pluto Sci-fi "channel" at the top of "Featured" area.

I'm going to be watching live tonight at 9pm and then see if On-Demand is possible after.

Hopefully they don't have problems due to much higher usage.

Pluto’s EPG is a train wreck. The whole app seems designed for people who would rather have the TV playing something than nothing. You can only really see what’s on now and next, and if you stumble upon the right button you can sometimes see a couple of hours ahead.

Putting Discovery on here is the desperate act of a studio that really didn’t think through the implications of releasing its most valuable and hotly anticipated asset in a way that might as well have been designed to encourage illegal downloading.

… and there it is, finally showing up in the EPG (if you can call it that) of the Pluto sci if channel. I must admit I’m not sure I really believed they’d actually do it.

If they did this straight away then it would of actually made sense since Pluto TV is owned by ViacomCBS. The way they did it though makes it look like they realised how pissed people are, forcing them to use Pluto.

On the plus side, the Pluto iOS app doesn’t force screen recording to go black or mute, so it looks like it’s possible to “record” the show, after a fashion. If 9pm isn’t convenient going forward I might just do that.

Re: Star Trek: Discovery

Well Pluto TV didn't crash under the strain, the picture was better than SD, but wasn't Full HD, I'm guessing 720p, the colours were a little off.

It was ages until the first ad break, but they seemed regular after that.

There were 2 episodes tonight. I'll look later to see if they are available On-Demand.

The S4 storylines were interesting enough. An ongoing one was intriguing enough. Not perfect, but I'll continue to happily watch.

The most annoying thing was that they showed the end credits after an ad break both times, though they did go right into the next episode without another ad break.

As far as I can see it's not on On Demand, so it's a bit useless for a lot of people to have to watch it at the designated times.
