You can rest assured I won't be doing any of that either lol

So if I buy the big kahuna bundle with sky movies and sky sports season pass, does that work out a lot cheaper than having the sky movies/sports bundle? You used to get a discount for both, but I presume you have to pay full price for movies with the season pass.

Big kahuna was £60.99 with each additional tivo costing £11.50 on top of that. That's what I was told anyway.

Does the £60.99 include the phone line of £15.99 too?

I'm on the VIP, but looking at the Big Daddy package, I'm not sure it's worth changing. Has anyone else found this too?

I've just posted this on another thread.
It a bit smoke and mirrors this offer.
If you are with VM on the top package you probably won't see any benefit by switching. I don't anyway. It's states £84.21 but without Sky movies or hd or any additional boxes. I have 3 boxes (inc 1 TiVo), Sky Sports and Movies all year round, 152 Mb broadband and talk unlimited extra on my phone and I don't pay a great deal more than this offer.
Yes compared to sky it does make huge savings.
Yes for people who just want to watch the football for the season and want to upgrade to this then it's an ok deal.
It's probably worth a call to retentions.

I think it's more to do with the variation of Android devices, different screen sizes, specs etc.

Thanks, I'll give them a buzz and see what they say. My contract is up 1st Aug. I'm definitely not going anywhere, but if I can save myself some money, it's all good ;)

2 questions:

1) After the 10 month £150 upfront runs out - what price is sky sports per month?
2) Have VM said whether this offer will be repeated every year? or will I then be paying the normal rate again.....so in effect it's just 10 months discounted and no more.

Thanks

Thanks, so if you take up the offer of the discount plus HD, you'll effectively be paying £22 for HD sports for 10 months, then £34 after.

Better than nothing I suppose. I have until September to decide.

VM may think that having the "in the clear" Sky Sports News channel in such a prominent position on the EPG may drive new Sky Sports subscriptions. What other reasons can they have for putting a minority channel right in front of the premium channels?

No it's channels that drive subscription numbers not just HD ones imo. The channel numbers matter not one jot to me am glad to say.

Doesn't seem so no. I am paying £7 per month for Sky Movies....

I don't see the point in obsessing over the channel numbers myself, it doesn't bother me at all. Maybe the EPG could be split into more sections to make the identification of the channel you want easier (for example, general entertainment, reality, period channels, etc) to break up the lists.

The actual order of channels you can decide for yourself, so frankly I don't know what the fuss is all about. VM would not be able to satisfy everyone in any case, we all have our personal preferences.

Virgin should have just said nothing about news channel coming would of be easier that way. to wait like 7+months for the channel seems a bit long to me when virgin say it will follow others channels launch but it's months away.

How does this square with the constant cry that VM don't keep us informed about future plans, blue? Surely, the more we know about what's coming, the better, no matter how far away such launches are.

Perfect.

You see, this makes no sense to me at all! BBC1 should be on 1!

Just makes my point that everyone is different and no method will please everyone.

Can you imagine trying to explain where the channels are to someone moving over from Sky? It would be enough to send em running back to Ruperts arms.;)

I set up a poll to gauge opinion on aligning the VM EPG with that of Sky. Approx 2/3 of respondents said no, with the main reason being that the Sky EPG was a mess itself!

The ability to change the order of the EPG was lost when VM took over from NTL (don't know if this was ever available on Telewest- was it?)

Unless you meant 'favourites'

Yes, and it is about time they updated the shows on offer during the day. I mean, who wants to watch Jeannie and Bewitched back to back all day long? I don't, and I seriously doubt any fan of the show does either.
