That's gratitude, drags a middle of the road club going nowhere to the precipice of greatness again, the club will struggle to stay there without him, in spite of the millions his sale will generate.

Phil Thompson on Sanchez...

Quote:

“He has chosen to go to Arsenal for whatever means and that will be down to him,” he added. “He doesn’t realise what he has missed by not coming to Liverpool; the passion and the power that comes with playing for LFC, and the worldwide recognition that he would have. He’s chosen to go to London and I think that will have been a big draw and I think that would have been the marquee signing. Arsenal have got that”

Hes also damaged the reputation and image of the club greatly during his time there, i'm not surprised some fans are happy to see the back of him.

He wasnt total alone in that. Liverpools heads had chances to protect the club.

I don't think he damaged anything other than his own reputation, no one forced Liverpool to keep him or treat him with kid gloves, in fact they went overboard to keep him.

I tend to agree about damage to Liverpool. Their support of him at times was embarrassing. Because he was a liverpool player, he could do no wrong.
