You are entitled to your view but the situation remains that talks are probably continuing and there is nothing I can see that suggests VM have led anyone on at all.

Who's the company which has complained and complained to OFCOM about Sky Sports availability/pricing and yet the only way you can obtain their sports channel is through them and not on every platform.

well said bud,the chap that phoned me this morning from head office.Stated that they want the channels however they are not willing to pay silly prices if they did they would have to increase charges to us and they are not currently prepared to do that,He did stress that now they are part of a bigger company and with the help of deals done especially with ireland that would help to require missing channels. But even thou he didnt say it he certainly implied that we wont be seeing any new channels for the foreseable future :(

Yes but tweets like that have alwasy been the case until an OFFIACL announcement has been made. Could still be an atempt to get people from VM

Fair play to them if Virgin are playing hard ball with BT over this. If BT want to walk away from potentially 4m customers then more fool them. Even a company like BT can only haemorrhage money for so long. They're just forcing people to find alternate methods of watching these games.

Will D&C succumb to the dark side?

Can Den & the army of light win through?

Will Sky's new death star wipe out VM as we know it ?

Can Johnasimmons rescue Dave 42 from the depths of despair ?

Will NStokes succeed in avoiding the deadly hat eating meteor?

OR will Luke (Media Boy) Virginwalker win through?

Don't miss the thrilling conclusion of "Coming Soon or not at all" tomorrow..

Thinking about it more (as that's all I can do at the moment) I can't see BT letting VM have a deal that's any better than the one sky customers have so free if you have BT broadband and £12/£15 a month if not. If they give VM a better deal then it would harm BT's talks with Sky and their case to get better access to Sky channels.

VM are in a very weak position.

Until ofcom get off their arses and stop media providers owning transmission mechanisms this is always going to happen. There is no reason why all channels can't be on all transmission mechanisms and the consumers then pay for what they want to receive. The sooner we get pay per channel and all the subsidised rubbish vanishes the better. If a channel can't stand on its own feet then get rid of it.

There really is no point in all this speculation. BT Sports may or may not come tomorrow, but I believe that it will. VM are still saying they are in negotiations, but actually, this is probably a done deal. The truth is, unless BT or VM put out an official statement about this, we will not know until the launch date, and even then it may still come, but a little later.

If the tweet from the BT source was correct, I believe that VM would have told us we are not getting it. So no reason to be pessimistic at this stage.

As for your second point - since when has life been fair?

I would largely agree but they do hold NHL rights for the next three years and enforced online blackouts last year for those who subscribed directly with NHL online so there is some value left there, albeit not a lot.

Unlikely - Commercial stuff is kept secret until launch - internal staff involved with the initiative will have to sign NDA's and the frontline staff are usually the last to know and they find out because a customer rings up and asks about an official release via the net.

When this time has elapsed as part of this deal BT sport will be announced as arriving on VM when stated and Atlantic shortly after. There will therefore be no reason not to offer Atlantic to VM customers on the XL package as they will lose advertising revenue with people downloading GoT via torrents. I believe that VM will have a wholesale price for VM customers, so it may only cost a little bit more for XL customers than prior with ESPN. It isn't going to cost an extra subscription just the XL price as far as I am aware.

To BomberAf I salute you.

By tomorrow we will now whether this was correct. If it is there is no doubt the best scoop ever on CF and you have truly be forever mortalised by CF people as a person "in the know".

If the whole thing was elaborated not only have you successfully duped us all on here but also all the journalist and media watchers that have been qouting "done deals, meetings and announcement". This single post also manage to capture all our interests and and hotly debated its arrival, cost and position and even break the monopoly.

Re-reading it againon face value if I was to believe it the whole logic seems to be the most categorically daftest agreement ever by any two companies, lords know why I even consider it a possibility but it was the hope of believing that it would made me think you could be right.

You got me that all I can say and I salute you for creatring the theatre and making me sign up to CF after all these years of watching from a distance.

All I know is online right now.

But:

-We know BT are set to launch FOUR new channels tomorrow.
-We also know that Virgin Media are testing FOUR channels off the EPG.
-Rumour on July 3rd says that Virgin cant confirm launch until August due to deal signed with BT Sports.

Also did we know HISTORY +1 was set to launch before the launch date?

Since virgin media is a part of larger group Liberty global , UPC larger than sky its self with more demographics my trying to show it to further a field I feel bt are playing the hard ball!

Last warning. The next person to use it will find me using the frack hammer against them.

Another point could we keep to the topic of Coming Soon to Virgin TV and avoid discussion of football clubs and other topics that have nothing to do with VM TV.

Thanks. Glad somebody else sees I was the victim here. Called that name by that Palace fan, and a load of others, just because I proved him wrong in a discussion over fixtures. Not my fault if somebody can't handle the frustration of being wrong. I shouldn't be sworn at.

Anyway. what's the latest on BT Sport coming to Virgin? seems to go back and forth. I'm still confident but if it's not on announced tomorrow I will assume that's that.

Getting the feeling we might be waiting a couple of weeks yet. Premier league starts August 17th...

Ridiculous. As others said, they want something for nothing here. This really messes up my plans if they don't get it.Going to have to faff about on my Freesat. Can't be arsed having two decoders. And I'll only have BT SPort on my upstairs telly. Gonna be a right pain this.

He wasn't agreeing with you, he was just ensuring the thread abided by the T&Cs of CableForum.

I have been informed by a mate who works in Sky On-Air Presentation (the same one that told me about the Memo) that future promos/continuity are allowed to reference Virgin Media EPG numbers (122 Sky1HD) however to refrain from mentioning its availability on other platforms.

didn't say he was.

He was shouting at the people who swore at me though, hence confirming me as the victim.

Anyway, BT Sport :). not going to say any more on that.

Last day for the £3 off offer to get it via sky viewer card. tempted to pull the trigger. this entire situation is ridiculous. Virgin are crap.

I have seen Sky doing it with Challenge.
