Battlefront definitely not for me :(. I'm trying so hard to like it but the gameplay for me is just plain boring. Does look good and seems to be pretty stable online.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
I factory reset my console after getting upgraded to NXOE and I didn't lose it. I think you need to opt out to revert back. You can factory reset whilst on NXOE and you end up with a clean NXOE. It definitely made my experience much smoother. You just lose everything saved to the console so make sure games are on external.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Have you guys on the new dash been using the One Guide to change channels and stuff?
If you have never tried it or even never run your TV through the X1 i really recommend that you give it a go as it is the fastest experience at flicking through channels i have ever experienced and i think it is rather good. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
How would I set the TiVo up to run through the X1? Might give it a go tomorrow morning. Wanted to do it since I got the X1.

You will need to tell it your make of TV Box though, try these instructions but it was dead easy. Make sure you select 50hz in the settings or you will get a judder. For the old dash board but it will likely be similar. http://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-o...set-up-live-tv http://www.techhive.com/article/2858...op-boxdvr.html |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Thanks. All I found on Google was US results, nothing for Virgin Media. Will test it tomorrow.

Re: The Xbox One Thread

1. Take HDMI that went from the Tivo to the Telly and put it into the back of the Xbox, in the labelled slot. 2. Then take the other HDMI from the Xbox to the TV HDMI slot. 3. Go settings on Xbox then TV & One Guide, One Guide. 4. In One Guide select TV lineup and put your details in. 5. Come back out and go to Device Control this is where your cable box should be entered correctly and also your TV should be showing your exact model if you have never done that before. 6. Come back out and check Audio & Video, make sure 50hz is ticked. 7. Come back out to the settings and go to Display & Sound, 50hz needs to be ticked in there too. Then when it is all up and running you select One guide which should bring up TV then with controller(i use the media remote which uses Kinect) you can move the left nob to the left or up or down then you can change channels and generally get used to it and learn how it all works, you can even set channel favs, switching channels is so fast, well it is compared to my V+. |

Tried the Oneguide yet mark?

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Hit a block when I realised you need Kinect to setup the TiVo with console. Don't have Kinect so will have to abandon that. Thanks though for the instructions, will bookmark that post and save up for a Kinect.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Why do you need Kinect to setup a tv box?
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Xbox One uses Kinect as an IR blaster for channel changing etc.
Without Kinect, the console cannot control the TiVo or any other STB, which makes routing the STB through the console rather pointless, as you can't use OneGuide and still need the STB's remote. There is a way without Kinect, though: Xbox One also has a port on the back for connecting an IR extension cable. https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-...shoot-oneguide https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-...-with-xbox-one You'd need something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...=sr_1_1&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...=sr_1_2&sr=8-2 |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
You can use the Xbox controller to use the Oneguide, i do agree it is better with the remote which needs Kinect though.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Quote:
Doesn't matter if the Xbox One controller can navigate the OneGuide if there is no Kinect for the console to then control the STB. Whether you use the Media Remote or the controller for the OneGuide, it's the Kinect (or separate IR extender thing as I linked to earlier) that actually controls your STB and other devices. No Kinect (or IR extender) means that the OneGuide is pointless as you still need to control the STB using its own remote. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
On right I understand now, glad I have Kinect then as it is far better navigating a channel list than my slowwwww V+, wonder how I will feel when I get a TiVo though?
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
So I could still connect the TiVo through the console, but use the remote instead of Kinect?
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
You could as that is how i have always viewed tv through it, however you can't use the OneGuide so it will be just like watching normal tv with instant access to the console. I recommend it i cant imagine going back to just having tv and no console on.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I don't see the point without Kinect or an IR extender. It just means you need to use an extra remote (and more power) to watch TV, with the only benefit being freeing up an HDMI port on the TV.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Another update for the new dash was installed last night, still not fixed my MKV issues though.
Battlefield Hardline now available on EA Access. |

If there is anyone who opted for the new dash and hasn't got it yet, then expect to get it in a day or so as everyone who opted in will now get it.

In todays latest Xbox One new experience update there is an MTU issue which is reporting it as 510!
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Just set up the TV through the console. Some slight lag for me, but not a huge deal breaker. Also it's a shame that we can't access recorded content through the one, so I have to use my sky remote for that :)
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
You can set the console to go straight to TV in the settings if you want.
Not sure if there is a point of having TV through the console without Kinect and a media remote though as Matt said, i have both so it works well. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I've got the Kinect sensor. Can you change channels via voice commands?
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Yes you can, whether you will want to keep doing that is another matter, trying saying something like .... Xbox watch Sky One
It should work, but you need to make sure you have told the console what sky equipment you have in the options? You can also use the left stick on the controller to move up and down on the channels which is super quick. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Don't know where else to post this so any advice would be very much appreciated, my wee one wants the Xbox one for Christmas and I have been looking at the bundle deals from Argos which seem really good as 3 games come with it. My question is would I be better buying the 1tb with no games or the xbox one 500 with 3 games.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Quote:
However even 1tb is kinda small, if it works out cheaper i would go the 500gb route and you maybe able to purchase a 2tb external drive which is about the size of a pack of cards but thinner and plugs into the rear of the console. This is the external drive i have and many others on this forum. You will have to do the maths on whether it would work out cost wise about the same, but you need the space for the games as they are 30-50gb in size and you get a few free games each month from microsoft with your GOLD account. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Passport-Ult.../dp/B00CSH1B4M ---------- Post added at 16:01 ---------- Previous post was at 15:53 ---------- Amazon are selling the Xbox One 1TB for £298 but without games, i think your son would want some games and they're expensive, so if the games are good you maybe better off with 500gb console 3 free games and a 2TB external drive which you can add at a later date. What i do recommend though is getting EA Access this will cost you £20 a year but you get loads of full games you can download in that cost, which again will need alot of storage space! http://www.ea.com/eaaccess/en_GB.html |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Your right he would want a few games with it and they are expensive.
Thanks SnoopZ think I will go with the bundle pack and buy the external drive at a later date as the Bundle contents: •xbox one console with 500gb hard drive •wireless controller •chat headset •hdmi cable •power supply •xbox one wireless controller •the fighter within •killer instinct •halo: the master chief collection. £384.99 whereas the the TB console is £349.99 with no games. |

This limited edition Bundle includes: 500GB Xbox One Halo: The Master Chief Collection full game download Gears of War Ultimate Edition Xbox One Special Edition Covert Forces Wireless Controller Wireless Controller and headset 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial** £309.99 External 2TB hard disk £59.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-Expa...drive+for+xbox Grand total = £369.98 so only £20 more than your Argos deal and that is with a 2TB external drive and 1 less game(which i am sure you could get cheap else where) i think it is a steal unless we can find cheaper. Links to other stuff. EA Access £20 a year with all full games in the vault free to play (14 at the moment and some are awesome) http://www.ea.com/eaaccess/en_GB.html Cdkey.com legit site, cheap game digital game keys and memberships. http://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/games |

I also wish that MS would redesign the awful PSU. I am *very* impressed with the controller, though, more than with the console itself. |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
What's so good about it? Any improvements if you're not going to be remapping the controls?
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
The build quality is *far* superior to the awful Day One controller. It has a true "premium" feel to it.
The paddles are *very* useful, even if you don't care about remapping other buttons. e.g. On Destiny, I have X and A mapped to the back left and right paddles, enabling me to reload or jump without taking my thumb off the right stick. I also have the bumpers mapped to the front left and right paddles, enabling me to use my grenades, melee, and super without having to take my fingers off the triggers. You can choose from a variety of pre-set profiles, or create your own. The controller itself can store two. |
