I thought Newcastle deserved at least a point, two big turning points, the bad decision and Joe Hart's terrific save from Remy. The Toon did get overzealous but given the circumstances most teams would.

see you missed out the 2 blatant red card they should have had

Couldn't have been red, both challenges were offside.

Quote:

Referee Jones consulted with his assistant and ruled out the goal. TV cameras picked up a conversation between the two men, with the assistant asking the referee if the ball had struck (Yoan) Gouffran. Jones appeared to reply, wrongly, that it had, so the assistant told him the goal should be disallowed for offside."
Genius.

Should that not be enough, he's being ticked off by former referee's Halsey and Poll

Quote:

Interfering with an opponent is defined as: preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball. For example, by clearly obstructing the goalkeeper's line of vision or movement. It was a tough call but the goal that was disallowed does not meet the criteria to disallow the goal. Technically, the goal should have stood. That is the law. In law, the officials got it wrong."
Quote:

Newcastle United were denied a perfectly good equaliser for an offside given, unusually, by the referee rather than his assistant. Mike Jones was well placed and clearly thought that there was an issue as the ball flew in to Joe Hart's net from Cheick Tiote's well-struck shot.

"The fact that three Newcastle players were in offside positions was neither in dispute or an offence- players have to interfere with play or opponents for that offside position to become an issue and that did not happen."
Don't worry about Joe Hart though, his vision may be 2 yards sideways but the media will leave him alone until he knocks us out of the World Cup in the summer with one of his calamity James saves.

Arsenal to buy both Santon and Cabaye for £30m? Feel free Wenger. Cisse set to leave just behind Jonas. Newcastle will wait for another million then Cisse is off, Luuk De Jong and Siem De Jong set to replace, Luuk De Jong is set to sign on loan regardless of Cisse.

I would not say blatant, one probable, one possible.

As I have not read or heard a single comment in support of the decision to disallow the goal on the radio, TV and in papers ranging from the Sun to the Telegraph I feel vindicated in saying that a good goal was disallowed. I am not sure but I don't think there was a yellow card before that so 'in mitigation m'lud' I would suggest that the referee was mainly responsible for Newcastle players becoming frustrated.

Nah, not this window anyway, if at all. De Bruyne is the one leaving from the group of attacking midfielders we have. Matic's more of a holding type of central midfielder, which is the sort of player we've needed for a while in my opinion. As solid as Mikel can be, he doesn't really get play started from the back like Matic, and can slow things down. It's one in one out and De Bruynes fee will pay a large chunk of Matic's fee, if he comes that is. I'm surprised this window has been quiet so far. There's a few clubs that need players and look like they'll be paying over the odds the nearer the deadline gets. We're experts at that...

The trouble with Mata is he does not really fit in with Mourinho's blueprint Mr P and l feel he will definitely be off in the summer to pastures new and the question is why did they get rid of Matic in the first place.

AC Milan have sacked coach Massimiliano Allegri following their defeat to Serie A strugglers Sassuolo.

Former player Mauro Tassotti, part of the coaching staff at San Siro, will take interim charge of the first team although another ex-player, Filippo Inzaghi - currently coaching the club's Primavera (U19) side - is the favourite to take charge on a permanent basis.

they announced Allegri will leave at the end of the season thinking things may pick up but they got worse. not many places where that has worked before.

Inzaghi to take over. thats going to be interesting..

Cabaye can buy out his contract for 6m soon, why would Wenger throw £24m for Santon ?

Being honest, I think he'll be off in the summer, for a nice profit as well I'd imagine. It's unlikely Hazard, Willian and Oscar, who are the preferred option for Jose at the moment, are all going to stay fit every game for the rest of the season so Mata will hopefully be involved in a large chunk of the remaining games. It's a shame the way things are going for him but I think the selections made by Jose recently sadly justify his lack of playing time. Matic went because of our reluctance to blood the youngsters for more than 10 minutes, if they're lucky, or so. I think, and hope, we're learning our lesson and a few more get their chance in the coming seasons. There's enough out on loan to choose from anyway. At least we can finally say one of our youngsters has made the breakthrough, and looks like he's going for big money :erm: Albeit not in the way you'd expect....

See Pardew will not be charged by FA. Astounding. 2 other managers get done in the last 2 weeks, and he escapes with no punishment. Just another reason for me to dislike him.
