hilarious guy...

Montpellier's Louis Nicollin:"[Yanga-Mbiwa] is an idiot. it's not my fault. Newcastle is really not a good choice. He will re-transfer soon"

Nicollin: "Mapou and Belhanda are not the architects of our current season's [success]. I would've been unhappy if Cabella/Stambouli left."

Nicollin: "Turkey is complicated. [regarding Belhanda's transfer] England and Germany [is where] I will sell my players."

Nicollin: "Newcastle had agreed with my son (dep chairman) We will not cry, it does not matter. Yanga-Mbiwa is not irreplaceable."

Well, that's more than I thought we'd get beforehand, but could have won it on the night...

Valencia coming under it

The local government of Valencia, one of Spain's most cash-strapped regions and owner of several infamous public white elephants, has added a La Liga football club, Valencia, to its portfolio.

He was class Damien.

Enjoy your bonus points.

Just don't expect him turning out anytime soon as a Gunner. ;)

Newcastle United ‏@Newcastle_FC
BREAKING: sky sports understand that Newcastle have made a £500m bid for Ligue 1.

Seems like every time we look at a player someone else jumps on it, It's official anyway, We've launched bids for Emile Heskey, Titus Bramble, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Faclao. Good luck Harry.

The Manchester United manager did not travel with his squad to Qatar for the four days of warm-weather training that they are enjoying before Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Fulham. Instead he remained in England to finalise the deal for Zaha, who has emerged as one of the most exciting talents outside the Premier League. It is unclear when Ferguson will join his players in Doha, the Qatari capital.

Rennes have accepted a £9.6m offer from Russian club Rubin Kazan for Yann M'Vila, but the France midfielder favours a move to England.

QPR were confident of recruiting M'Vila with a £6.2m offer that would rise by around £400,000 if they avoid relegation, but M'Vila was undecided on signing for the Premier League's bottom team.

He would prefer to join the unnamed club, who would pay £3.3m up front and a further £3m, or £3.3m, at the end of the season.

Re: Football Season 2012/2013

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa didn't arrive yesterday as planned but I'll be over the moon if we sign 3 defenders in one window!

Brings into question Davide Santon's status, He's been a good lad and has really turned out well but there was rumoured interest from Milan for both Santon and Krul which also ties in with Newcastle supposedly ready to buy Jack Butland but loan him out to Birmingham straight away.

I can't even speculate anymore because I assumed our obvious window was 3 players being a defender, midfielder and a striker.. but we've went out and signed 3 defenders and are actively looking for midfielders and strikers.

Been doing my own bit of scouting, I find it strange nobody is going to take a gamble on Charlie Austin at Burnley, yet to play top flight football but the lad is a goal machine and won't be much of a loss financially if he turns out sour.

On a humorous note, Newcastle United only need 32 trophies to become the most successful team in English Football.
