My STV +1 Channel (From Edinburgh) is using SID number 10246.

That would be TS 102 then, the clue is in the number. Only the basic ITV SD services were moved to TS 101 to make room for ITV HD, the +1's stayed on TS 101.

All 3 versions of STV won't appear on the same network by the way. Glasgow and Uddingston will have the STV Central (West) version. Edinburgh & Falkirk will carry the STV Central (East) version, with Dundee & Perth networks taking STV North (Dundee). STV +1 is only available as a single STV Central version across 4 networks plus the STV North version for Dundee & Perth.

Both of my 360 boxes updated overnight to v4.37. The only obvious change I can see is that the search or voice search facility now incorporates Youtube content too during that process. Hopefully others can post any other noticeable updates.

You can also now lock apps using the Parental Control Virgin TV PIN. That's separate to any in-app parental control options.

I've no interest in whether you are bothered or not. I'm just amazed that you would think that the post was meant for you. It wasn't.

So glad to see that , was worried it might be of non sad people :D

I guess there's a lot of people wanting to see content from their own nation. There must be, otherwise Virgin wouldn't have bothered upgrading the London and the nations channels to HD. :D

I use BBC 1 Scotland when stories of interest come up as I have family there. My brother has lived in England for nearly forty years and often tunes into BBC NI for home news and other shows.
The bonus of course is that I can record hd from successive programmes without the slight glitch whenever one recording overlaps another.

To be honest the out put of BBC Wales is pretty poor , and the news coverage leave a lot to be desired. However l can understand why people would look , however I think as far as virgin is concerned it's more about number of channels offered :D. After all I player is available for such use .

If Paramount are serious about streaming as they claim, I can see many of these stations closing. IMO, certainties to avoid closure are:

Channel 5, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV, CBS Reality and horror channel.

- 5SELECT to fold into 5STAR.
- 5ACTION and 5USA to merge
- Comedy Central Extra, Nicktoons, Nick Jr. Too, CBS Justice + Drama and all MTV Music channels (bar Music and Classic) all to close.

Paramount would probably have to come an agreement with Sky and AMC Networks to close their joint venture channels.

MTV channels I don't see lasting long term.

I can see that happening. I see core channels like Channel 5’s stations, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon etc. staying on for ad revenue, but those focussing on Freeview.

5Select and 5STAR have completely different demographics. For one, the former is for oldies and the latter for the younger end. More likely they will just flat out close 5Select, they've already moved it (last year) onto a less available (tech transmission wise, not geographically) multiplex on Freeview and the viewership dropped significantly.

True. Paramount are gonna do something big with Paramount+ looming. Most of these smaller niches and joint-venture channels will likely close.
