Re: Season 2019/2020 Football
Struggling to believe this is actually happening.
Until the FA fixes this absolute mess then they've got no choice but to go with it. They've already made an arse of it that many times it's impossible to turn back now. On what planet is the resolution used in VAR high enough to determine if anyone is truly offside by millimetres. Can we at the very least get the referee going to check a monitor. |

Recognised the name. Can't recall anything on him being removed. Shows you how much attention refs really get. Unless you're Howard Webb. Re: the article, out of context or not. You've made a right arse of it. Tit. Not really sure how he's managed to get this article. This isn't PC culture gone mad. Mocking disabilities was never a cool joke for the lads. Thankfully the world woke up. Filming someone with a walking impairment the using it as your own gag. Classless. Hope the joke with the lads was worth his job. |
Re: Season 2019/2020 Football
Looking back I've somehow managed to miss the part where the FA basically covered this up. :erm:
Anyway it's 8am and we haven't signed anyone yet. |

So much for a open and transparant image they try to portray. |
Re: Season 2019/2020 Football
VAR. They've done it again. They don't have a choice now. You can't pull the rules halfway through. A serious look into it is needed come the seasons end.

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football
As soon as you introduce ambiguity real problems will start.
At the moment it is a zero tolerance situation which is not open to interpretation by an individual - either a bit, however small, is offside or it isn't. Leave it as it is, it's the same rules for everyone. |

It's not hawk-eye or goal line technology. It's a replay that has very little give. They're attempting to use replays to make Millimetre decisions. It can't be done. ---------- Post added at 17:14 ---------- Previous post was at 17:04 ---------- https://twitter.com/WeAre_MUFC/statu...823301/photo/1 Off or on. Again, measuring from a perspective that couldn't possibly give you a valid outcome. https://twitter.com/FIFuturesTrader/...845504/photo/2 Same incident with the resolution they're working with. Change the rules to do the opposite. Every single decision that needs this level of scrutiny with a system not fit to provide a conclusive answer is a goal. Don't get me wrong though, as per my previous post. They have to keep doing this until the end of the season now for consistency purposes, they can't change it till then. |
Re: Season 2019/2020 Football
I hear what you are saying Adz.
Maybe it's the offside rule that needs rewriting? I'm not suggesting VAR is perfect but it's better than what we had to catch the cheats. Having said that bizarre decision not to give a penalty against alderweireld today.... NVM great result :D PS when you score a disallowed offside goal and get injured - priceless |

Basically if it can't be rectified with the naked eye then no offside is given. Quote:

Re: Season 2019/2020 Football
An absolute waste of money, time and effort. For all the good it is you may as well toss a coin . . heads it's offside, tails it isn't.
Can't believe people are suggesting changing the offside rule (again) just so it fits into the VAR framework :D :D As mentioned though, if it's something clear and obvious that the officials missed I don't (can't) see a problem with it, trying to measure millimeter accuracy however, is simply guesswork  |
