Nope - although I'm always happy to be wrong I'd have to agree with Openviews' timescales

Darn. well im off to bed hopefully you lot will have some good HD news tomorrow. Or maybe not...

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2

I joined SKY 17 months ago after being a Telewest / Virgin Media TV customer for nearly 8 years. With the announcement today of a new carriage deal between both companies, that will see 5 more SKY HD channels launch on the Virgin Media platform, I can honestly say I now consider Virgin Media and SKY equals in the TV market. This is something I honestly thought I'd never see.

SKY might have a handful more HD channels than Virgin Media, SKY Atlantic and a broader catch up TV library however I think Virgin counter this with BT Sports included in the XL package and the availability of Netflix on their TiVo box.

I would truly struggle to separate both in terms of who has the best TV offering. For me they are neck and neck and can only be separated in terms of your own personal viewing preferences.

Or whether you can connect to Virgin's services.

Yeah according to VM customer services last week despite having been connected to Virgin for last 3 and half years, my road and the surrounding roads aren't connected to the Virgin network. So that begs the question, why am I using a TiVo box and using their BB if I cannot connect to their network? I swear customer service employees get worse.

Some of them still have the "computer says no", so it MUST be correct mentality. If that were me, i'd have asked them to contact billing to tell them to stop charging for a service that, by their own admission, I cannot be receiving :D

Is BT Sport available for free on VM to those with XL broadband (assuming they don't have XL TV)?

As has been said it would seem a bit odd starting the tests now if it's not happening until then??

I don't have the sports package so it makes no odds to me :)

I just had a quick flick through the channels and i don't see any placeholders/epg yet

I'd imagine 519/520 for ss3/ss4 HD
