Ouch, packet loss and latency are too high even if you're on legacy network. :(

Mine's still alright. I think it's top quarter service in my area with DOCSIS3, not that the legacy was too bad.

Any advice on way forward? I have been suffering from latency issues ever since sooperhub and 50Mb service have been installed. Previous 9 years have been rock solid but now getting latency problems gaming and finding that I am buffering a lot more in youtube etc

I'm amazed you're seeing Youtube issues with that little tickle of congestion there. I was able to stream Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 even with this latency last night:

They won't accept it as a fault anyway, it won't come close to the threshold for escalating.

Hrm looking at the way the load sloped down yesterday I'd say you've some upstream congestion there.

I'm sure you know the capacity planning rules :)

ignition you uploading 24/7 like you hinted on your VM post to get above threshold? ;)

I wouldn't say yours is bad at all. Compared to others on here.

virgin media 30mb on improved upload cpc3-oldh9-2-0-
before the packet loss is the best it gets, not good compared to the low latency and jitter plusnet use to give me. 16ms 24/7 with 1-2 jitter

the packet loss is where the engineer was here sorting the upstream power levels out, which is what the useless forum staff ordered to try and solve the rubbish latency an jitter out.

sick of checking the latency out before i dare go near the xbox to fly the planes in battlefield 1943.

i tell me self it could be worse as some of there other customers are dealing with treble fig latency 24/7. shame as i had a interleaved adsl connection that gave 34ms 24/7 to bbc and that was through a post office connection

a few PN fttc and adsl graphs here which i asked for to shame VM into doing somthing

Jesus, that switch is really bringing the packet loss down and keeping latency levels more steady. Much better than the old method I had of rigging dozens of things up to one broadband connection.

really so you think yours are bad

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/s...20-05-2011.png

That BLIP was me yesterday downloading/uploading some torrent stuff - The rest is normal for the past few weeks... What would you do in this situation.. Ive already tried to speak to VM on their official forums but im told there are no utilisation problems..... How more obvious can this be ?

Efour they turn the shaping off 4 hours too early in your area, your graph is the first I seen where there is a clear change at midnight.

Hi can you explain that in layman's terms please? I want to call them today and be armed with some knowledge.

thanks

not really relevant to what you were asking, as far as the answer you want I suggest emailing the CEO to get the CEO office to respond.
