Yay - I've just had an 8.2mmol/l reading which is the lowest I've had in a very very long time.

My readings have been around 30mmol/l for far too long. I'm so excited I can almost forgive the cheery american accent on my machine :)

That is a fantastic result, just keep doing what ever it is you have been doing and get that reading down even lower. :tu:

Your post about your machine talking reminded me about a car we used to own. It was a Renault Megane with a speaking thing that gave out warnings on doors being open, petrol levels and umpteen other boring details, Apparently, well according to my husband, "she" also said "Good morning Sexy" to him when he went for the papers. Scary to think that a car needed its' eyes testing! :)

I experienced something that shows the power of walking away from problem and coming back to it.

I've been developing a new system for work, and was working on fixing one particular bug on Friday afternoon, and all day monday. Couldn't see anything wrong, but one script was returning HTML files when it should have been returning PDF or Word files.

Couldn't do anything yesterday or this morning as the server was off line. Came back to the problem this morning, took one look at the script and saw that the script was returning an extra X in the HTTP headers sent to the browser that was confusing it.

Its actually a timber pod with heating and electricity - we just fancied something a bit different as we've already been conventional camping a few weeks back.

The DB9 is probably ok if you're a passenger but for 130 grand or whatever they cost these days it pains me to say that they are actually a bit rubbish...when you have got out of one of those and straight into a 911 Turbo (which costs a lot less) it feels like you've just been driving one of those big, metal sheds from Argos.

We can't have Bond driving any of that foreign muck though ;) but the Bentley Contenental is ok, just don't tell anyone it's a re-skinned Volkswagen.

happy thoughts

My Favorite Things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

My happy thought - I ordered a double bed and desk from Argos today to be told that it would take twenty eight days to be delivered - and I just had a call saying they could deliver on Wednesday, but I'm at hospital (for a change ;) - so Friday.

Not bad, not bad at all.

It's going to be fun building the frame when I can't see properly I'm sure :)

Not sure what to do with the old single bed yet, I'm hoping the council can take it away.

Tee hee yes underneath it's basically a VW Phaeton so you're paying for the name plus the dead tree and many dead cows used to craft the interior. At least they still make them down t'road in Crewe.

Apart from the Rollers being German I don't think that a block of flats with a wheel on either corner is befitting a superspy like Bond.

Now that is a good one Sox. :tu: Especially the last line which is very true but unfortunately insight is not something exercised by those that should learn to use it.

I totally agree with you and wish now the would get rid of Louis Walsh. They should have kept Dani as she was the most honest judge last year and wasn't afraid to speak her mind also. Wonder who they will be replaced by

Louis was there just for the arguing and controversial acting part of the show. Dani was actually a proper judge. Gary Barlow is the new one.

Cheryl was only put there to annoy me.
