yep so instead of waiting 3 hours to get through it will be more like 6 hours.

Well this is just bad:( How can they improve things if they keep taking the staff away. Making everybody elses job harder? I'd like to see these people that make these decisions on the telephones to irate customers.

M8, im telling you, its not a rumour, its a FACT. And its been on the card for a long time. It makes perfectly good buisness sense. NTL dont own the building in cardiff. It is leased, and apparently the lease is up. With the restructuring of the company, and faults being maintained in Belfast now, renweing the lease was never an option. Its a bummer, but from our point of view, there are plenty of part time jobs out there (forgot to mention she`s part time) for her. Although i doubt any other company offers anywhere near the incentives NTL has done/does.
Like in M/cr.

ntl dont own the building they just rent one.they own a perfectly good one about 1.5 miles away but didnt use it till the rented one got burnt down

By coincidence, I bumped into an ntl girl on Friday night. she was made redundant whilst on maternity leave.

It's a big shame that there are honestly many employees in ntl that would take the money tomorrow, some have even put their names forward as I did when I worked for them.
Unfortunately it's the worst thing to do in ntl, because once they know you want out they appear to make things so bad that you leave without the dosh

I guess it's hard to believe that poeple actually want redundancy with the present climate, but constant pressure and poor treatment has taken ot's toll on a lot of them. Some of them actually feel bitter because thet didn't get it last time.

But lets not forget the ones that will be torn apart by the news, I have every deepest sympathy for even the ones who say ntl can do no wrong.

And thanks for letting me say that here:cool:

Why doesn't this suprise me? They throw money away with one hand and give job cuts with the other.:(

because it makes good business sense to rent a building when you own others in the area that are standing empty.

remember this is ntl we are talking about.

That's hit the nail on the head that has.

I made the mistake of making one little comment as a customer and was given the boot for it.

I must say that rumours about the Cardiff building were happening over two years ago, and it has become apparent that a certain guy with a little bit of an Irish accent! has been moving everything into his own back yard.

I had a message from someone who attended an introduction session a few months ago when he was employed by ntl in Belfast, he said that guy openly stated that he was going to make Belfast the centre of excellence for Broadband.

He intended to have everything on his patch, I guess it's just the thin end of the wedge with more changes to follow. The same happened with wales when they moved all the power to Glasgow and then when it went to the Midlands. If there is another structure change, who knows all the jobs could come back to Wales.

If any ntl employees are reading these posts, don't vent your anger at us. Aim it at the source of the problem, I don't think anyone who hates ntl as a company wants to see people out of work,

btw: did you guys know that ntl had the Cardiff building built for them, and sold it to a pension company before they moved in!
thats why they rent it, the money problems go way back before most people were aware!
