Much prefer Carling, and later into the night its normally straight vodka. And no i'm not kidding. Last time it was about 8 cans of Calring, one Carlsberg (til i realised i hate the taste) a few Tequila shots, Gin and lemonade, and a bit of Vodka straight. Managed to keep it all down, no problems at all.
Of course, i only ever drink like that at my mates houses, usually at the parties that are held there.

Congener is the word your looking for. One of the worst ones is methanol.

Methanol actually causes blindness. (And it's acetaldehyde which actually causes lightheadedness - an intermediary in the oxidation path of alcohol to acetic acid... which happens in the liver.
