You can pickup a Ethernet cable at marlins for about £4.99 that would be better than usb.

yes but i don't have much time to go and buy one + my net provider said that they will give one for free to me but i don't have time to do that. i think the simplest version is to download the drivers if they exist

Also seen patch cables in ASDA and Tesco, it might be worth trying your local superstore.
£3 in ASDA.

Also VM don't have usb drivers for Vista so you'd need to get them direct from Motorola
and then it's unsupported if things go wrong.
Ethernet is definitely better.

Please find below the link for the Motorola support page with VISTA Driver downloads

http://broadband.motorola.com/consum...on=CableModems

BUT I DO REALLY RECOMMEND ONLY TO USE AN ETHERNET LEAD AS YOU WILL NOT GET SPEEDS ABOVE 6Mb USING USB.

Re: Motorola SB5101E USB drivers needed

How would I go about installing these drivers? I have no Idea how to install with Install Hardware Wizard. It always says not responding after it searches for connected modems.
Please Help, Thanks.

EDIT: I got into the part where I press Install from disk or "Have Disk..."
But I can't find which one I should use.

It would be a lot simpler if you just used an ethernet cable to connect into the top socket on the back of your modem, even if it means getting a Network Interface Card fitted in your machine they are less than £10 to buy.

Re: Motorola SB5101E USB drivers needed

I am using an Ethernet cable. Going through a D-Link DI-624 Router.

I don't need the drivers. I need the whole disk. The guy from Shaw never left me the install disk for the modem.
