Re: new channels???

It says, available in 8 languages at the same time. So i think that means yes....even if its not available i have no use for 7 other languaes.

They said they were gonna renumber late in the year , after bromley....well i think i remember reading that on the keynote presentation from a couple months ago.

ntl are probably waiting for Sky to announce their renumbering then ntl will just copy what they do. How original...

Any you're allowed to say this because?

Don't get me wrong, you're entitled to an opinion. I don't throw a hissy fit because you have one.

At the end of the day, you're asking for gay channels, i'm asking for them NOT to show homo stuff on my telly. I don't want to see it. MY opinion is as valid as yours is. Don't like it. Tough.

No it is not tough.

Gary - I specifically requested earlier not to post any more inflammatory comments. Failure to comply with a moderator request may result in your posting privileges being revoked.

No. Directly attacking my sexual orintation is not "tough" - 'get used to it.' It ain't gonna happen and I ain't gonna let you. If you don't want "homo stuff on your TV" then dopn't tune into that channel.

Back on topic. Yes, EuroNews was unexpected and, for me, welcome it is too. I always liked the difference when I occasionally viewed it during the days of analogue cable.

To be honest, I can only see VH2, Motors TV and the Horror Channel being watched in our house. I'll probably file the others down the bottom end of the favourites listing to keep them out the way along with the radio stations and other channels we don't watch :)

Right lets get this sorted once and for all.

Rillington - As much as I respect Gary's point of view, that in no way means that I agree with his point of view. My personal opinion is that Gary is a small minded homophobic, amongst other things.

Gary - One more attack on the Gay members of this site WILL result in an immediate suspension.

I hope I have made myself abundantly clear on this. Now back on topic.

OK Simon, I guess I misinterpreted your comment. I assumed respect as agreeing/sympathising in this case. I therefore apologise to you.

In summary, the only channel of interest to me will be EuroNews. Have to say it's a shame they haven't added any new radio stations and it has always surprised me that Capital Life has never ended up on digital TV - it isn't even on Sky.

It makes sense for all platforms to have the same number for each channel.

It does, yes, but unfortunately this will not happen for a while, and ut's highly unlikely they will adopt sky's numbering system.

Re: new channels???

I don't think that will ever happen. However, I am surprised that ntl ahs not given its channels the same on both platforms.

Re: new channels???

why do langly and bromley have different numbers?

jonifen 01-09-2005 13:02

Re: new channels???

Adopting Sky's numbering system would be a nice plus to attracting customers from Sky to NTL. However, it would only take Sky to renumber their channels to put it all out again. I think putting them into groups of numbers would be good which I think was the original plan (I could be wrong)... just the mistake they made was the groups weren't big enough.
1-100 : normal entertainment channels like BBC, ITV and the variants (ITV2, BBC3 etc) and other similar channels.
101-200 : Childrens channels
201-300 : Music
301-400 : Movies
401-500 : Sports
501-600 : News
601-700 : Foreign channels
701-800 : any channels that do not fall into the categories above
801-900 : Radio channels
901-999 : "premium" type channels etc.
or something like that.
