Gave up and went back to the previous version (too hit and miss for me)

I just tried it and most of my extensions/themes hadn't been updated, so I've gone back to 1.06 and I'll wait till the final release.

Related to this, I've just gone back to Netscape 7.2 from Netscape 8.0, which uses the Firefox engine, because it kept crashing with 100% CPU usage.

It's a pity, I'd like to support their product, but I need a browser that works!

You can install an extension called 'Nightly Tester Tools'. This works with most extensions. It puts a checkbox in the 'Install now' extension dialogue box that can be ticked to make the current versions of extensions work with nighties and beta versions of Firefox. 'Compact Menu' is the only extension I've found so far that it hasn't worked with.

It beats making each extension compatible by using Winrar to open up the xpi and then updating the version number in the 'install.rdf' file.

Thanks for that. It didn't like one of my extensions though.

Hmmm, Thunderbird 1.5 beta is out now, too.

Hmm, quick reply works for me... I just got the beta of TB as well.

I notice the installers for both 1.5 beta versions say they're 1.4 when you install, and so do the entries in Add/Remove Programs. Help -> About gives the correct version, though.

Flash doesn't work though.

Does for me. Is Adblock maybe blocking it?

No it just says No Flash Plugin installed. I've even reinstalled FlashPlayer...

A bit of an explanation here

No problems with the quick reply, but...

...the adblock doesn't seem to be working fully. It's blocking the ads from the filters already there, but I cannot add to it using the right-click.

Also, I had to alt-f4 to close it after the normal methods didn't work.
