Not sure what point you are trying to make with "already seen" in Virgin Media section.

Not sure what point your're trying to make either ?
Unless you seriously believe no one with Virgin Media has ever seen any of these shows.

Yeah, no thanks, I'll save my time...

I'm fairly sure no one could care less, as it adds nothing to the discussion.

Really there are some shows on it that some will love, someone must be happy with them or they wouldnt ever been screened Why virgin think it will be a reason to move to 360 I am not to sure, but assume that some will. Would need a much better offer for me to jump ship

Quality not quantity. Tv was better with 3 channels.

You say that because you prefer all the old stuff. While there were some good programmes in previous times that stand out to me, even in the 1960s - Danger Man, Dr Who (before it deteriorated into farce), Thank Your Lucky Stars, Duchess of Duke Street, etc, I also remember night after night when there was nothing on worth watching. When BBC2 launched, there was nothing much on that channel that we would want to watch - it was quite stuffy when it first came out, and all those occasions when sport could be on all three channels at the same time continue to annoy me to this day!

There was a period into digital TV when there really was a good choice. So many good dramas I struggled to keep pace. There were some very watchable programmes on Sky 1, 2 and 3, and even channels like 5 USA, Fox, etc carried some worthwhile dramas.

These days, we have even more choice of content, but this is now available mainly on the streaming services. Some good originals get put out on BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Channel 4 - and I note that Channel 5 is getting into this now as well. As for Sky, I’m sorry, but their heavy reliance on US content has put them on the back foot with the studios tending now to have their best content sent online. We have a few Sky Originals, but they will have to do much better in terms of quantity and quality to retain viewers. I haven’t watched anything on Sky lately apart from ‘The Last of Us’, so I will consider very seriously at the end of my existing contract whether to continue my subscription to their content. I have already ditched Sky Cinema.

Absolutely, I very rarely sit down to watch the TV, when I do I spend more time flicking through the 500 (ha) channels than actually watching anything . . if I ever find anything to watch :dozey:

I find channel hopping to be the most frustrating way to find content.

im loving sky atlantic. great set of boxsets

You are correct, but most of them have aired over the last decade. There is very little that is both new and worth watching.

I agree. Except I would say that the first season of Gangs of London was very good. Season 2, with some different characters, was a disappointment.

Chernobyl was also good.

Interested to know why would subscribe to HBO Max then....

There is less new and exclusive worth watching and upcoming series on that than there is on Sky.

Arguably there is some older series Sky should acquire in particularly from NBC Universal or Sony, Sky Deutschland acquiring seasons 1 to 3 For All Mankind from Sony Pictures Television and airing and available On Demand on Sky Atlantic

As the Community Forum is a pile of tumbleweed I was trying to post somewhere if anyone else has the same issue as me on 2 V6s every day the annoying message that despite selecting delete will not delete saying upgrade to 360 to get Sky Atlantic.
It is real spam at it's best

<SNIP>

BBC2 produced The Year of the Sex Olympics in 1968. Brave ttop stuff. (A few good societal tips in there).

Yep, same here. Same cycle each week. Boxes reboot at 1pm on Monday & as soon as you turn on the TV you get the update message. Delete it from there & in Messages & it reloads the next day, so have to do the same. It used to then clear for a week, but the boxes now reboot on a Thursday afternoon as well & I have to delete the Message on a Thursday & Friday.

Unless you like rehashed box sets, Noddie, Sky Atlantic is a nothing compared to what it was. Imo.

Yes . I've had to give my family a course on how to ignore and delete the daily messages.

Its worthy of a complaint but I can't be bothered. This is part of why the community forum has been closed down, feedback or complaints are not welcomed by VM. They particularly dont want 'the muggles', to post and share experiences of how crap VM are. Bad for business.

It will be interesting to see Sky's approach to any new in-house dramas - whether there's any sharing/simulcast with Sky One or if they're just on Atlantic.

A few dynamics around Atlantic have clearly changed, with some gaining access and some losing.

Some VM customers have gained it but who's lost access to Atlantic?

By letting VM have Sky Atlantic I reckon Sky have abandoned the diifferentiation that used to be.

In-house dramas previously carried on Atlantic & Showcase, now that Showcase has gone/been rebranded.

I had to wait for my V6 to reboot this morning. Took ages and when it came on I was given the option to activate with the tempting offer of getting Sky Atlantic. Hope this isn't going to happen every day. I'm not feeling hopeful.
