Never used the word inventer before, even my Firefox spell checker says its wrong even if it isnt.

Loose & lose, there & their . . the ones that annoy me the most.

My wife just cannot, however many times it's explained to her, get 'been' and 'being' correct :)

Loose & lose are not the same words, atleast not to me.

They are not. One means to lose something, the other something that is not fixed in place or baggy clothing/skin/morals.

It's because people don't change the the settings on their OS from american to UK..
