They think the rules of the road don't apply to them and that is the biggest problem.

A portion of cyclists are idiots
A portion of motorcyclists are idiots
A portion of car drivers, coach drivers & lorry drivers are idiots

Each treating the other road users with a lack of respect and thinking that they own the roads.

I still keep coming back and asking why can you ride a pushbike on the road without having to do any formal training whatsoever? Hell even a 16yr old has to do a CBT for a 50cc ped. Which at least teaches, road positioning, life savers, shoulder checks etc.

What do you need training for when the government let's you hire a bike no matter how inexperienced, how inebriated or how well you know the roads in a global metropolis and will enable you by ripping up half the cities roads that incidentally no local cyclists bother with and cause untold congestion and pollution in the process

Name calling they always say is the resort of those who are losing the argument because their argument is poor and baseless and does not stand up to scrutiny to start with.;)

Thanks for your thoughts Confucius .

Did you not notice that the 'name calling' was taken in the right spirit by those at whom it was directed? This is because their perception is different to yours. They know when an argument has brought itself to conclusion on mutually acceptable terms and closed with a little light-hearted banter.
