Whilst I'm certain she'd be happy to jump on a bus full of migrants/refugees, I'm not sure she'd feel comfortable travelling with the rest of us ordinary folk she's clearly so ashamed of... :rolleyes:

So TFL have decided that taxi drivers have to give the service unless they are drunk or violent but that doesn't make it right and it shouldn't remove the right of a service provider to provide that service to whom they choose. She's a stupid jumped up little girl and needs to understand that she can't go around saying ridiculous stuff like she did with no consequences. Yes we have freedom of speech but that freedom doesn't mean you get a free pass for what you say and that freedom extends to those who disagree with what you say. He showed his dislike for what she said in a completely non violent way in the best way he could express his dislike for her and knowing his refusal wouldn't prevent her getting another taxi. All things considered his way was a lot better then the way a lot would choose in this day and age she needs to grow up and get over herself.

Well they don't currently. I think allowing people to refuse service based on their political beliefs is a slippery slope. I don't like it. This cab driver probably equally uses many services from other people whose political opinions differ from his.

And Katie Hopkins has said horrible stuff about migrants and been defended on here. Why is 'apologizing on behalf of the country' so much worse?

Freedom of speech is different from the TFL regulations imposed on black cab drivers.

Because we've nothing to apologise for; and when and if we do, we won't ask a little girl to get her nails done and cry like a baby about it to some bemused kid in a tent.

So what? I am at a lost at people's ability to take offense on this. Someone with no power says something silly. Big deal. When I saw the story I felt it was a bit arrogant for her to apologise and promptly got over it.

The difference being that her apology for 'our wrong doing' was broadcast to millions of people not all of whom will have dismissed it so casually.

If a taxi driver refused to take katie hopkins as a fare I'd be ok with that as well given her unpleasant stance on a few issue's, if tfl paid for the taxi the guy is driving then they have a right to impose whatever conditions they want. If as i suspect the case is this guy owns the taxi and pay's tfl for a licence to operate then i think it's right he has the final say in who he drives unless his objection was based on racial grounds. It's a bigger deal because her stupidity got air time because of who she is and if she at least had the remotest clue what she was on about that would be something, though of course if she had a clue she'd never have apologised on my behalf or anyone elses.

As has already been said here, he's probably had enough of luvvies mouthing off on our behalf, she was mildly inconvinienced and he lost money to make his point :shrug:

Imagine having to hail another cab FGS, she must have been terrified that she'd have to resort to mingling with all the plebs on public transport. Can you imagine that??!!
