I don't use ISP supplied routers other than for testing - but where I do I always set 40Mhz mode (300Mbps) on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.
Mind you crApple devices do have a tendancy to dislike 40Mhz mode operation, especially at 2.4Ghz. |

My Apple devices (iPad, iPhone 5S) are quite happy with 40MHz operation on the router (defined in Airport Utility as "Wide Channels")..
BTW my router in this case is the Airport Extreme which doesn't support 40 MHz for 2.4 GHz. |

I have an ipad and my android phone and my apple tv all pick it up. my problem right now is that i cant connect to my vpn on ipad over the connection, i can on my mobile connection if i tether it to my ipad.
not the SH i think its just me lol |
