A trailer. 500GB.

Try downloading that even with 120Mb & STM kicking in too.

Doubt you would even see the trailer that afternoon.

I can stream 4k's quite happily even when STM'd I think you have a fault if you can't

You can download the 3072P version which is 430MB - not long even under STM on the 120 package!

Erm, I think I can judge what I *need* and don't need.

For example, I need a mobile phone but I don't need a tablet.

I have a need for faster Internet connections & don't like leaving my PC on for 5, 10, 15, 30+ minutes waiting for something to download.

Streaming is not an option because of quality issues.

It's like saying you don't need a car that can go 70 on the motorway because you can set off earlier and go at 30 :/

Not everything can be pre planned, I can't know that some friends my want to come over tomorrow evening and maybe a comedy film is needed. I can't possibly know or plan this :/

I remember the days of downloading music on 56K connections.

Would take an absolute age, now it takes what, 1-5 seconds?

Would you still be saying that we don't need faster than 56K because you don't see the urgency?

I fully understand perhaps faster speeds would be too inconvenient and instant for you, however personally I would prefer to download movies like I can now download songs and what I am saying is that I'm sure speeds will only ever get faster while files are getting bigger. And when they are introduced, I will be ready to sign up.

Whether that's with BT & 300Mb or faster or with what VM will be testing.

I enjoy driving, I'm lucky to have a very nice car and friends who have good chat.

We always spend time in the arcade / machines / table tennis etc so ads are skipped. Trailers are worthwhile to watch to discover new films.

So back then you survived just fine not being able to download movies in a day, yet now you "need" to be able to? And assuming you're over 15 years old, you probably didn't have a mobile phone 15 years ago yet you're still alive, what makes you "need" that any more than some third world child who's never even seen a mobile phone?

Has society changed that much in ten years that being unable to download a movie in 5 minutes or spam facebook every 30 seconds now makes you a leper?

I didn't need to download movies "back then". I had no interest in them apart from whatever was on TV.

A mobile phone is needed, at least for work purposes. Something a kid dosent need. But someone who works does.

My needs are different to yours. I find it inconvenient having to wait longer and longer for downloads.

It would be nice to download faster.

I fully understand some people are against advancements / choices.

It's a want right now and when's it's available it will be a need.

What can I say, I don't like download wait times at current speeds and current file sizes.

I bet this guy leaves his mobile on most of the time - even though batterys explode more today than they ever did.

I always want the best download speeds so my porn doesnt buffer, as for the upload speed, well... use your imagination there ;)

Possibly speed becomes an end in itself, certainly in my case. Faster feels better even though we all know that for the most part a reliable symmetrical connection of 60Mb with low ping and no jitter is all you would ever really want or need. So what if 2Gb takes nearly 5 minutes instead of just over 2 minutes? Safe to say your porn ain't gonna buffer slowly at 60Mb.

Like I said before, if you dont need your downloads faster, why even bother having Virgin Media?

Why not go for a free broadband package?

Why did companies even bother allowing us choice for faster connections than 56K?

Personally, PERSONALLY, I would like to download large files, 5-10GB+ like I can download music files.

That's just how I PERSONALLY feel.

I don't have a modern PC.

I have a High-End PC.

But I guess that's too off-topic to discuss here.
