Seriously? Did you not read my previous post?

in simple terms they get told what addresses that don't want their junk.
Okay.

simply changing the persons name is intentional...
But they don't do that. One is "direct mail" (that you can opt out of by contacting the company (as you have done); the other is one a completely separate blanket mail-bombing where Royal Mail is told to "deliver one of these to every address in this/these postcode area(s).

No. I'm not a big fan of junk mail from any company. But they wouldn't do it if they didn't get some return on it. So that's that. I just add it to the recycling and get on with my life.

Here we go again even more of if CARL likes it then WE must like it as well.
So I just proved you wrong there then. The right thing to do would be to apologise but I won't be holding my breath.

Or you could just do the more sensible, less time-consuming thing (not to mention cost-saving, on their part not yours) and stick it in with your other recycling.

Can we just stick to the topic without making personal remarks..I shouldn't have to keep asking as you all know the rules by now.

If you cannot just ignore the person irritating you either by using the ignore tab or mentally vowing to ignore them then I suggest you leave the thread.

why do you think you don't get to the Occupier/Householder from Virgin Media at the same time as To Carl from Virgin Media?

To be honest, I have better, more pressing, things to think about. But I get much more of the former than I do of the latter. I can't remember the last time I got a personally-addressed one. Perhaps because I asked them not to send me any more :D

I can tell you why if you ever get interested.

goes to show that paper free bills to save the environment was really just to save paper for them and their constant mass mailing :)

We ? Try not to speak on behalf of all of us ;)

I assure you Im not annoyed, in fact I really dont give a toss.
If Im not interested, i simply chuck it away - I have far more important things in life to worry about than a few bits of paper.

So do you get annoyed in the same way with Virgin when they take out one or two page spreads in newspapers to advertise, which you receive as well? Or what about when they put their leaflets in with TV magazines on a Saturday or Sunday?

I just wonder why they send offers to non cabled areas like mine. It all goes in the bin here, just seems a bit pointless sending me offers for cable TV or broadband.

Now that I can agree with.

However, if a given postcode area/town/whatever has some cabled and some not it is probably not possible to say "only deliver to these specific addresses". It's basically a carpet-bomb approach.

Don't forget a lot of the leafleting is done by the Post Office and they may not realise or care which are cabled areas.

I guess the benefits system isn't connected to my wages then, since I use one to get around not being able to use the other...

Not far off companies piping their profits to offshore companies via legal loopholes to avoid taxation. Sure it's technically legal but it's still douchey and immoral.

whats worse is they continue sending the crap to customers who can't get virgin but actually want it

I may also be the only one to never have had the junk mail from Virgin. Now if it was SKY or BT, then I get at least one of each every week.

very little from Sky and bugger all from BT ,in fact the only time BT acknowledge i even exist is when it's time to pay the bill:rolleyes:

Being a virgin customer and getting so many leaflets form them inviting me to join...is indeed annoying. VM send me more leaflets than anyone else by far. Talk talk would be in second place but they still only send 1/6th of what VM do. Just the occasional leaflet form other providers.

Oh and I get more VM junk mail than any other type of junk mail, not just ISP related.

Well I just got another one. So do I..

1. Worry about it, have a rant on a forum, save it somewhere then send them all back to VM wasting both mine and their time.

or

2. Re-cycle it and get on with my life.

Not really a hard decision

So your going to save it up and send it back, well done :)

I nearly have enough to send my next lot back to a sender and i have decided to send it to British gas this time as they have posted 4 items through my door in a month addressed to the occupier. I am not a customer and NEVER will be so why pester me, they have been requested not to spam me and they ignore that by using the "to the occupier" trick.

1 x A4 envelope with as much of the spam mail from the last month from all the spammers is what British gas will be paying for
