Time limited and/or fixed price discounts will be, but bundle pricing will change http://my.virginmedia.com/customer-n...-an-offer.html

If there is a price increase does that give you the right to leave without penalty if you are still under a 12 month contract ?

Yes you can:

http://store.virginmedia.com/the-leg...-services.html

J. Ending this agreement

If we and/or Virgin Media Payments:
a) increase our charges under this agreement
b) make significant changes to the services so the services you are entitled to receive in return for the charges you pay are significantly altered or reduced; or
c) make significant changes to the terms and conditions of this agreement (including the other legal stuff),

you may cancel those services affected without penalty by giving us and/or Virgin Media Payments (as applicable) at least 30 days' notice.

Thank you for that.

Re: The price of your Virgin Media service is going up

funny thing is about these companies... they are quick to put price hikes on the bill and do it whenever and as often they like.

But if you are under contract still, and due to financial circumstances are ever late paying, they cut you off almost instantly... without any discount on the bill for time without services due to still being under contract... even more stupid is the same system that can cut you off at a whim, takes up to 24 hours to put you back on.

Virgin Media does give you a bit of a grace period, but O2 is terrible.. I experienced it before when I was abroad for a few weeks I was late paying my bill by a few days, because I dont use direct debits... came home and mobile and vm had all been restricted.

That only applies to the affected service so you cannot cancel any service not affected by the rise.

It's been simplified this year so I believe now applies to the whole contract

As per www.virginmedia.com/changes

If you do not wish to be bound by these changes you can cancel your contract with us without penalty. The process to be followed is set out in our terms and conditions at virginmedia.com/legalstuff

Now that is a surprise can you ask in work for clarification as that has always been the argument used and many on here would love to know if they can cancel everything.

I will not be cancelling either my Virgin Media contract or my Virgin Mobile contracts as I could not beat them for price anywhere.:D

I wouldn't have posted it if they hadn't already briefed out that it had been simplified this year

You posted the words "so I believe now applies to the whole contract" which led to my question above, your follow up give clarification.

My letter says the increase is £4.09 !!! How come every time I get something for free of virgin I get a letter a week or two later telling me I have a price increase that's 3 price increases in less than a year!!!

I raised the same point yesterday. Seems to be purely coincidence :erm: The price increases are not linked to the free stuff you are getting :erm:

Now there is no way to prove this however you've got to trust your gut instinct. I know what Virgin are doing, you know what Virgin are doing, and other customers on other forums know what Virgin are doing.
