Re: Hub software update
You want to build a Frankenhub, Qasi.
Oops - peccavi! (That's Latin). |

Re: Hub software update
I have a spare R19 Shub due to VM being a bit to keen to send them out. Unfortunately R19 has severely buggy wireless. Fortunately it was replaced with R20 before it even got out there as far as I can tell, so no-one ever had to run with R19 (testers aside). Doesn't help me though.
If only I could update the firmware in the box it might be useful in some way. Currently it is gathering dust. Oh well. |
Re: Hub software update
That version allows SSH into the hub.

Re: Hub software update
Firmware won't fix the badly designed wireless antennas though.
And by that I don't just mean the placement. It seems whoever designed the PCB itself had a pretty flimsy idea of how microwave RF is supposed to work... |
Re: Hub software update
I'm not sure which point Qasi was addressing. The point about my SSH remark was that you can have fun delving into the wretched thing.
If Qasi was referring to the topic title, spot on. Not only that, there's little past evidence that any firmware fix will fix the firmware. BTW if you put the term "wretched device" into Google, the SH comes up #44 & 45 in the whole world. LOL. |

Re: Hub software update
after getting the R36 update yesterday iv had 2 dropouts of 5mins each in the last 16 hours
after a stable service of more than 8 months (and this is in wired mode) is there anything i can tweak to fix it? or do i have to wait for the next update |
Re: Hub software update
you didnt get R36 yesterday dude, you have had it for a while now. They are trialling a new version of firmware which will probably be released very soon so you dont need to worry.

Re: Hub software update
They could screw up modem mode too, just perhaps not as easily. But if it's a dropout rather than a reboot it sounds more like an RF problem
