Until those alternative like the air car hydro gen go mainstream where 70% drivers use them we will stop rely on fossil fuel.

Dont believe electric is viable long term due to its not impulse car got to charge over night. Costs electric to individual and to nation with where is the electric to come from.

Hrm, well maybe they should take this duty and heavily subsidise electricity with it.
Which would probably mean taking over an electric company so it's run by the government again.
That way at least, people would be more inclined into purchasing an electric or electric/hybrid car.

Some developments.

Vince Cable wants to use stateheld stockpile oil to reduce prices.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...s-7583732.html

Dont get me coy but the highest cake is the uk government next to the costs of oil/refineries.

Surely this wont do anything to reduce forecourts prices. Surely wise to leave our stockpiles alone for more serious rainy day. Afterall the middle east aint that stable we could end up in right pickle..

How much stockpiles we got.

Interesting comment during budget scrutiny today from osbourne.

Quote:

Labour's John Mann says the price of petrol has gone up by £1 a gallon since Osborne since he became chancellor.Q: Is it true you are taking an extra £10m a day in petrol duty?
Osborne says the extra duty he is receiving is offset by the amount he is losing from people buying less petrol.
So the question ask can we assume that it goes up to ofset the loss of motorist driving.

What a strange answer what strange way looking at the problem.

So if more drivers walk away fuel duty will increase rapidly to ofset losses those walked. Which inturn will cause more hardship more prices go up inturn slap us bang into ressesion.

Sod Petrol
I paid 148.9p for diesel today, and with the **** tanker drivers going on strike the **** garages will put prices up like they did in 2000.

It was obvious with the olympics this year that every loony union boss would try to bring people out on strike at that time. They will try any blackmail they can to raise wages at the expense of others.

I dread to think of the chaos a drivers strike will cause and it feels like blackmail to me.

Regarding the increases in petrol and diesel we seem to be cushioned at the moment in my area with unleaded being on sale at 135.7 and diesel at 142.9 but I though some members might benefit from looking at the following site which checks out the cheapest prices near any postcode........ http://www.petrolprices.com/

I have used the site for a few years and can vouch for it not leading to spam attacks.

And drivers in the US are complaining because it is $3.79 a gallon (approx two pounds fifty, or 55p per litre)....

Well first think what is LPG? what can you get it? here's the really simple answer......... Lpg bottling plants, some local cities have them, I know my city has some of them too, what do they store + refill the spent 25/47kg (red/orange) bottles with..... LPG the same thing that's used in motor engines. So where do you fill up your LPG tank in your car or HGV......... petrol station or bottling plants. All you have to is pick up the "dog'n bone" + ask have got the equipment to refill a LPG tank..... so there's more places than one thinks.

I know about this as I run my wheels (diesel) on a duel fuel system off Ebay + new LPG tank (long distance) direct through to the engine (fitted by gas safe reg plumber) - easy as that; no pricey conversion here - look on YouTube for yourself folks.

Looking in my local yellow pages even online, I seemed to note company's advertising, for a filling up service yes LPG so there you go folks.... here the very good part you service station users (cover your eyes if you want).......only paying £0.79 pence a litre to fill up not forecourt prices. Not to mention running a blend of thinned down mixed cleaned used oils for my other tank in case I'm not near a LPG station of bottling plant yes my engine is not a modern chipped controlled piece of rubbish just a plain old diesel solid runner; starts on the first turn of the key every day any day even in cold winter months.

Diesel engines like old model VW Jetta, old Landrover series types even the old model range rover V8's are the best as you don't have tons looms of wiring everywhere & different sensors everywhere till you get to your seat covers! To add this fact, if your up against it you can run that old V8 Range rover engine off paraffin to get to the nearest fill point, it's not going to sound smooth, more like rough as dogs dinner but it will get you there just a little slower. Never had to do it myself but have seen it done a few times over the years but don't try it in a modern piece of rubbish diesel as it will write off your engine... you have been warned :dunce:

I hopes some out, that are wondering on how or where do I get this problem sorted out... now you know, what the tax man doesn't know won't hurt one bit - less in their pocket more in mine

Hello mertle, hows it going buddy?.... I hear loud + clear insurance are pain to there own cause, putting up prices -then selling our data to 3rd party wondering if we interested in claiming for that "accident". Late to find they have jacked up the renewal price to cover your claim in the first place

As for fuel wise I've seamed to have cracked, it's easy on my wallet long term & pay for the rest with no more extra expenses on top of my yearly total figure. If your wondering I put a quarter of thinners (1 can of thinners) per tank with the mixed cleaned oils for each tank, that can be used motor oil, cooking oil or even old compressor oil. The thinners is an old trick on how to keep your engine working clean while using spent used oils. I get my sources from in the motor repair industry I take it away it saves them disposal costs so much so, I get a call when theres a 5 gallon drum full normally & collect with placing a empty drum to be refilled later.
LPG wise I got a choice of three sources.. four if you count the petrol station that has put in large LPG tank this week area a square area of 100 miles.

On the future wise, once I get things going with a few solar panels that I've got coming (second hand -off a back of a lorry) with a second hand tank & water supply - I'll have a hydrogen fuel on tap which will be free of charge then using the same set up but with a small nipple nozzle in the injector system.

On another note here, from the paraffin to using fine brandy or single malt or even whisky or vodka can be used but the first four are more pricey than normal petrol so be wise all, it's just a waste of good booze.

Looks for my 15yr single malt in my drinks cabinet...... cheers all!

Now we got new one they creaping up if your in flood plain risk.

I read scientists able to make fuel synthetically with same properties and able mass produce the process. 240,000 barrels a day is made in poland plant.
