Were VM going to give 50meg the "fluff" increase that the 100meg tier got?

Seems like they should have, especially with 100meg not even being tested. Wasted opportunity to toot their own horn.

I was just stating facts, you DO work for Virginmedia, Virginmedia DO give funding to Sam-Knows. If stating a fact is now classed as smearing this place is getting ridiculous.

Although how Virgin are funding them is relevant when saying Virgin fund them. There is a marked difference between buying a stake in the company (which would give you at least some say in how they operate) , and buying a service (which would give no say in how they operate). Both of these would be considered Funding.

Oh, and from Samknows themselves...

We are running this independently of direct ISP involvement but we do have their support. For the avoidance of doubt, no ISP’s are providing funding, hardware, services, broadband connections or any other support to the system.
So, if you believe them, they are receiving no funding from any ISP. Have you any evidence to the contrary? I did a quick google, and the only funding source I turned up was OFCOM.
