Oh they do. the vehicles might not, but the person driving it does.

Of course they do, Gary.......

It's not as if they could be discipline for doing it, is it?

No. not if they only do it when they know they'll get away with it.

the thing is, they think you're stupid. and you wouldn't know otherwise.

I dont troll.

I am not a person who trusts everyone in authority and in a position of power.

You have never heard of police using sirens to get to the chippy amongst other things?

I had a rally game on my console (Megadrive IIRC).

We both did several runs recorded the time, we then both drunk enough vodka to put us over the limit, then did the same course as before and our times were better.

OK not scientific and we would never do it on the road for real.

I remember a guy who I worked with passed his test on Wednesday, went out for a drink with his mates on Friday, and got a cab home, he then deided to show his mates how good he could drive.

He did this all the way up the road until the boys in boy pulled him over.

He was banned and made to retake his driving test again.:D

A game though is totally different as you know.. it doesn't mind if you take to the wrong side of the road and the drink can make you take more risks which is exactly what the game calls for..

There's no excuse for drinking and being in charge of a motor vehicle and deserve everything they get if they do take that risk

You make very sweeping statements for something you obviously don't know anything about.

How on earth could they "know they'll get away with it"?

You don't have to trust everyone in power, I certainly don't. But you can't make accusations just because you have a huge chip on your shoulder about the police

I've actually done that test myself. But the main flaw is that on a games console you don't care if you crash or hit someone. And it is nothing like driving a real car.

So what do you base your evidence on?

Gary L 29-12-2011 12:54

Re: Don't Drink and Drive

Knowing.

are you really saying that it is a fact that not one police officer breaks the speed limit pretending that he is on a call, and probably uses his blue lights and sirens to his/their advantage?

if you are, then can you tell me if it is fact that not one police officer smokes weed? :)

There are unfortunately dishonest people in all walks of life. But you seem to be implying that it is a regular occurance.

So I will ask you again, what evidence do you have to support your claim??

No I didn't. you're just saying that now because you know that it's not a fact that not one police officer is guilty of it.

My mate John who is a police man.

There will be an exception to every rule. But you can't make sweeping statements to tarnish the reputation of a whole profession, just because of a few idiots. That's like saying that all doctors are mass murderers because of Harold Shipman (or whatever his name was).

Well ask 'your mate John' if he would accept something a mate told him as evidence.

I really don't believe that you have any mates who are police officers with your view of them. And even if you did, you wouldn't have for very long if they found out the sort of things you say about them.
