Our restored power only lasted 20 minutes. We've abandoned ship for the duration and are staying with family in Glasgow. We got some dramatic photos on the way down here. I'll upload a few whenever we get back home. :D

It's fine, the wee needs are all hiding indoors to stop their white tracksuits from getting wet and muddy.

He didn't say that it was safer - it's just that the wind on the loch was slightly less toxic...

Winds seem to be getting stronger now in Glasgow I hope my TV is ok tonight as we have a freesat dish. Never seen anything like this since 1969. It was bad then and we stayed in a highrise flat at the time. Neighbours were going out to stay with the relatives, They were scared to death. But we survived ok Thank God

Was that the January gales? I remember an old neighbour getting blown off her feet at the corner of our street. I stayed in East Kilbride at the time and the place was littered with trees and fences the next day.

Thread title updated in honour of the fact that Scots, of whom there are but 6 million, have managed to get 'hurricane bawbag' trending worldwide on Twitter. Wha's like us, eh? :D

If anyone in M41 or M32 has received an air born present of a couple of brand spanking new green nylon garden rubbish holders with with red handles could I have them back please. Apparently they were last seen rocketing over my roof this morning. :D

On a more serious note I hope all my fellow members are safe.

I believe it must have been at that time. We stayed in the Castlemilk High Flats and some of the windows were blown in and the school roof was blown off and scattered all over the place.;)

There was quite a few people killed in Glasgow. My Mum knew a Woman who was kille when the chimney collapsed through the roof in her tenement.... think it was Dalmarnock road but might be my childhood memory playing tricks.

Most of Glagow looked the same to me in those days :)
