Not surprised at all at the release date nor am I at all bothered as some people seem to be as I'd rather wait for a more perfected game than have it rushed out full of bugs like so, so many games are now.

I'd imagine that the next gen console cycle will also have been revealed by than if all the recent leaked information on specs is anything to go by.

I nearly preordered mine from HMV or Play.com.

HMV is questionable if it will be there in September, and even if it would be honoured.

Then theres Play, which is stopping its customer side of the business.

Good points Hom3r but I usually find that neither of them have the best deals anyway tbh. Lucky your other choice wasn't Blockbuster :erm:

Grainger games have been decent if you use their price match system where they'll beat the cheapest you can find by a £1. Not brilliant but I found some sites with cheap deals and got them to match a few time before to get some games much cheaper than anywhere else.

I think they take the money when placing the order though so not great for everyone and I've have heard a few stories about them although I've personally not had a problem with them yet.

Shopto used to be my go to place as they used to beat most online retailers prices and almost always delivered before release but their prices have been a bit rubbish this last year.

I usually end up getting some kind of good deal from the supermarket websites like Tesco or ASDA ect ect normally with a discount code or something similar.

Hotukdeals is a good website to keep an eye on as I end up finding most of my gaming deals though them now.

I agree, it makes a nice change to see a company that would rather delay releasing the game to make sure all bugs are fixed, because if they released it with bugs in people would moan and say why don't they delay releasing game until bugs are fixed.

As usual, a company is in a damned if they do, damned if they don't situation. Wonder how much Amazon are asking for a pre order copy? Might have to save up and get it. Just looked, £39.99 so will have it pre ordered by end of February.

I thought the release date was "Summer 2013" from the outset?

Nope, it was set for spring.

Right, we knew it'd be a March-May release for Xbox 360 & PS3.

Whilst we have no guarantee of a PC port, it usually drops in later on in the year.

Now I was thinking over the past few days, GTA games have a huge lifespan expectancy and it's years between games.

It's no secret the Next Gen consoles will be releasing in line for Christmas 2013.

GTA V will release for the current-gen meaning GTA V will be backwards compatible come the new Gen. However GTA V will only have taken the 360 and PS3 into consideration and if the 8GB memory high processing next-gen console specs are true then where do we go from there. It's a missed opportunity. Could add countless things and make the map essentially huge.

I have reason to believe Rockstar will release an updated version with more content and utilize the next gen machines.

I have tried to get in touch with sources including the person that I got the Los Santos leak from and thus far he's given me nothing.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

Of course then that would mean the PC release expected later in the year should be the updated and improved version. Not strictly true as Rockstar would look at the options currently available on PC that weren't so dominant when GTA IV release, speaking of course about the Steam client and Origin.

Has this been done before? Simply put, yes it has. See FIFA 2007 released for the Xbox & PS2 then later re-done and released on the Xbox 360.

Note also it could be a quick sequel (addon) similar to the ballad of gay tony but released for Next-gen etc.

Reason for me believing this is again simple. Are Rockstar going to support and release DLC for a game on a console that will be past-tense come Christmas... No they are not. Why release a game that after Christmas will stop selling... exactly. Again the Blu-ray space and power of the consoles mean the potential could be huge.

FIFA 2014 will also follow this route (Don't see why seen as though it releases later in the year and they could just hold off for the console release)

As I suggested above, this looks like a hold off for NG reasons.

Also FIFA 14 will not release till fall like I suggested, getting good at this :D

Fifa have done something like this before with Fifa 07.
Even though the XB360 version had much improved graphics, the game was IMO considerably lacking features and was inferior to the old Xbox version.

But saying that, even though next gen consoles will most likely be revealed somehime this year, I doubt we'll see any on the shelves until Q2 2014 at the earliest. There are too many AAA titles due to be released this year on the current platforms.

There are 10 new screenshots here, including an interesting scuba diving one (James Bond harpoon gun fight anyone??)

A couple of them look rendered concept art though

Is it still being released in September? Put a deposit down in Tesco on Tuesday morning.

September 17th at the moment yes which probably means 20th in Europe. The parody websites associated with the game backdrop should start popping up soon, around/after E3

Cheers, the girl in Tesco said it was due to be released in May. Will trust Amazon's release date over her.

Collectors and Special editions announced.

The goodies look a bit crap but they've thrown-in some in-game stuff. I bet you'll be able to unlock that somehow anyway.
