It's where your modem sends data to, it's located at the gyle Edinburgh. Once sorted your speeds will go back to normal, it's been raised as a fault so should be sooner than later

Thankfully it's been raised as a fault. I don't mind waiting as long as I know the fault is being addressed.

Hi Blairfoyle, you now have a new hub as a backup in case your existing one goes diddies up! :D

it will be useless mate, you need to send it back and if you use it you would need to phone up and have it activated which means more nonsense to deal with!

Was worth a try! Wonder how long we'll have to wait until the fault is rectified. There should be some kind of compensation for loss of quality of service!

It's been over a week so far.

And they do sometimes compensate for these kind of things. I was offered a discount a while ago while my area was oversubscribed.

Finally got a response from VM support forum.

Hi blairhoyle,

I can see from our records that you activated your new modem a few days ago. Has this improved the connection?

I have checked the network segment and cannot see any issues with noise or utilisation that would affect your connection.
Kind Regards,

what now?

I thought the situation had been recognised as a fault?!

Just completed a speedtest. Sitting at 17mbps download and just over 2mbps upload. A remarkable speed for this time of the night compared with the past 7 days. Hopefully the fault has now been fixed!

Anybody else tried their connection yet?

this is what I'm getting at the minute mate, better than I have been getting for the last week at these times, but still nowhere near the 50meg that I should be getting

if you look at the last page on the Edinburgh thread I believe they are making fixes at the minute to improve the situation but it doesn't entirely fix it.

I'm going to check my readings again after 8pm as it really takes a hit after then.

Hi mate. Speeds seem to be holding up ok for a 20 meg connection. Fingers crossed! Hope you get speeds consistent with a 50 meg connection!
