Hi Skie

This is just what has been happening in my post: Serious Virgin Cable Routing Issues that I posted a couple of days back. Just getting totally blank screens and thats it. Still virgin are still saying it's an issue with individual sites :D

well its logical pip.

a normal routing issue stops all connectivity or perhaps slows down speeds.

this seems to be tcp packets getting corrupted.

As he said sometimes sites partially load, and the upload test on speedtest.net also sometimes starts but then gets cut off. In all cases udp and icmp are fine.

If it is inspection gone wonky I would also hazard a guess VM may be waiting for 3rd party support from their supplier hence the long length to fix.

And its not like I'm just seeing one page cut off as if it was just me timing it badly. I can middle-click a bunch of links over a few minute period, see the titles of the pages appear in the tabs then go to the tabs and see nothing but white. On certain sites that are regularly being affected. Obviously something is getting through but then being cut off.

Re: Virgin blocking certain sites?

It has to be a VM problem as I am on BT and when I clicked n a VM link on this forum it took ages to load compared to any other link.

This leads me to beleive it is a VM routing problem rather than a DNS problem, unless of course you have another reason.

This is nothing silly like Virgin carrying out some sort of monitoring software testing or blocking or something like that?

Ive called them twice and formally registered a complaint as the service is currently not fit for purpose.

Re: Virgin blocking certain sites?

Your timed out to mountune just means the routers are not accepting or repesponding to a ping. It happens to me on my BT connection.
