Agreed but they do offer a free Sky+HD box which records 60 hrs HD which is ample for the majority.

Voted 'No' for reasons I added on Tivo Thread

I don't think I'll bother going with the pre-reg order at the moment. I can appreciate that this is a premium product and Virgin can't give it away for free but I do think they should have at least had a sliding scale of pre-reg charges rather than the blanket offer they sent (and I got today)

I'm on VIP50 and have always been on the top tier since oooooh 1999 and also have 3 Virgin Mobiles on contract. I grant you that this is my choice but I think I must be paying 'Virgin' around £160 a month hence it would have been nice to have had a little more off than the £50 as part of the pre-reg offer.

I'll get it when it comes downs substantially. It would be nice to get it booked in but you know, the V+ when you think about it is more than adequate.

Putting it like that, TiVo will cost additional £18.75 per month for first year, then £3 per month after that. Sounds a sweeter deal than I thought, considering I saved not far off that last year through retentions, and Sky+HD was going to cost me £10 more than VM for a lesser service.

Keep talking, this is good ammunition to convince the misses!

Voted yes. Am disappointed with the offer after having to wait for so long, but I want a nice shiny new Tivo :)

My thoughts exactly and I think a "comparable" package from Sky including this might even save circa £10 a month (okay not entirely primarily no ESPN unlike XL which is a strong plus point for Virgin vs Sky). Although BT seems to offer ESPN for a one off fee.

80 hours gets zapped on my V+ with the few HD channels they have. Can't see that working on the 50+ HD channels with Sky.

Plus with VM in year one as a new customer you have to pay an HD activation charge

Just say the first part of it over 18 months (just lie about the last 6 months) £189/18 months = £10.50 + the £3 Tivo charge and that is the last i can come up with:(

The deal Sky quoted me: 6 pack, Sky+HD, 10-20Mb bb "unlimited", unlimited phone, caller display, anytime+, 60gb box £58.75.

That's certainly not £10 cheaper than VM, in fact £10 more. Although comparable as you suggest is hard to compare, as you get more channels on sky, but no on demand (the clincher for my family).

20 hrs on V+ in HD mate , 80 hrs is SD.

The way I read it the standard Sky+HD can do 60 hours HD so triple the V+ which would be a big improvement, if I've got that wrong please shout!

My bill for Virgin is about £54 a month with the latest price increase, with the package I looked at I didn't take into account unlimited phone/broadband as I don't believe my circumstances require those which cuts about £12.50 off of your quote and comes to £46 apparently.

I was a pre reg and did not get this email today. If I did the answer would be not interested, why sorry I just don't think it is worth it £200 for a clever piece of software and a 1TB hard drive!

The leap it tech advancement is not enough for me to invest, it is nowhere near the difference between when I upgraded from a standard V box to V+ with HD activation!

Epic confused moment. Still, £250 for a 1TB hard disk is robbery.
