It should be fine as most people ignore secure networks, you can keep changing it you may end up forgetting the password at some point.

If it is working leave well alone.

TVM. As we've never used wi-fi before, are there any precautions we need to take or settings we should make on any the devices we may wish to connect to the router in this manner?
