Your probably right but they might for the first week or so as a promotion. Then again am probably just hoping for a little to much lol. I can't decide if I should just keep my current one and move it upstairs or sell it for some cash towards the new model.

I can't see it being worth much though as alot of people are probably doing the same thing. Good news for people happy to pick-up the old model though. They'll be spoilt for choice lol.

EDIT**

Just found this, not great trade in deals.

Thinking of upgrading your old 360 to a shiny new Xbox 360 S next month? GAME's got you covered.

The UK retailer has announced a list of trade-in offers available in store that should help spending out on the upgrade more bearable.

The list is as follows, with the price you see the price you pay when you trade in the appropriate console:

XBOX 360 ELITE £99.99

XBOX 360 60GB PRO £119.99

XBOX 360 20GB PRO £139.99

PS3 SLIM 120 GB £24.99

PS3 80GB £59.99

PS3 40GB £69.99

NINTENDO Wii £124.99

Not sure how you can trade it in when you need to transfer the contents on the hard drives...

that said i will be buying this one when it comes out ( only got current one second hand to play games against nephew )

My 20GB only has 1.2GB free and most of it is game add ons and updates.

I will be definately getting this at the end of July once I get back from my hols.

You could back all your stuff up to a usb mem stick, or just redownload the add ons and stuff and back up the game saves to a usb stick.

tbh, that's better than I expected. I'd be happy with those prices, for trading in my (nearly three years old) Elite.

That's what I would do.

All I did when I went from Premium to Elite was use a "Memory Unit" to back up my saves & profile. DLC etc. I just re-downloaded.

I'll do the same this time. USB memory stick for saves (& whatever else I can fit), & then just re-download the rest.

Not bad if you got an old elite but not great for me with a 20GB Pro.

Game and Gamestation in the past have traded in just the console and given people transfer cables for a deposit and when people bring it back with the hdd they give them the trade in value on the hdd and get the deposit for the cable back. Thats the best method imo.

You'd keep the HDMI lead, audio dongle and hybrid component/composite cables that came with your 2007'ish Elite though, right ;)

Well, it's not like new Elites come with them anymore, is it ;)

Although, regarding the dongle, the 360 Shiny is the first to not need one :)

Zing, the problem with the overheating was caused by the heatsinks not connecting properly with the processing units, the 360 will not overheat with well connected heat sinks. This design flaw has already been addressed and I would be very surprised if it crept back in to the new 360. Once bitten ...

We had a guy from Microsoft in doing something with our server and infrastructure guys last week. My mate spoke with him and asked him about the new Xbox and Kinect. He said they've done a hell of a lot of hardware testing with the new console due to the issues they had with RROD and the cost of repairing consoles. He said they pretty much got rid of the problem with the later chips. He said Kinect should be about $80 in the US and he thinks it will be around £60 - £70 in the UK.

Game are also offering an extra £25 trade in on the wireless adaptor (black) version with the Elite.
I've pre-ordered the new model with them £199.00

(£20 deposit)
£100.00 trade in for old Elite
£25.00 trade in for wireless adaptor

That's only £75.00 to pay....not too bad at all

I'm also thinking of offering a Nintendo DS Lite for trade in, depends how much they offer for it though.

Roll on July 16th !!!

I would do that but still worried about moving save files across...

Yours isn't new though. Do you know which motherboard revision it uses?

When I moved from a Premium to an Elite, I used a Memory Unit to transfer my saves, & just re-downloaded all my DLC etc.

This time, I'll use a USB stick instead.

I think there are some games which have saves that can't be copied, but I don't think there are many, & I know they're not any of the games I have.
