I reckon this is one of the problems Man City are going to have when attempting to sign new players who are well known/wanted elsewhere. It became evident when Chelsea first started outbidding anyone else and now chairman are thinking "that`s only there first offer, the`ll go higher than that if they really wan`t him".
Nobody is really at fault because the selling team wan`t as much as they can get and if money is no object to the buyer then what`s another 20% on the price.
Things are starting (well allready are) stupidly crazy whan it comes to player transfers, jeesh it doesn`t seem long ago that Trevor Francis was the first £1 million pound player

p.s. Milner is a fantastic player and would be a great asset to any club, lets hope City do put in that extra few bob. Trouble is nowadays the player himself (along with his agent  ) has the final say as to where he plays

Quite. Not to mention the shop-lifting mother or Coke dealing father.

Loads about the Hammers today

West Ham have been linked with an ambitious £12m swoop for World Cup-bound Toulouse forward Andre-Pierre Gignac.
Full story: Caughtoffside.com

But the Hammers looks set to lose midfielder Valon Behrami, who is a £5m target for Italian side Palermo.
Full story: The Sun

Behrami is also attracting the interest of Liverpool, who will use Yossi Benayoun as bait to help land him and defender Matthew Upson.
Full story: Caughtoffside.com

Villa boss Martin O'Neill is also ready to offer £15m for West Ham striker Carlton Cole.
Full story: caughtoffisde.com

Gignac for Cole + 3 mil not a bad bit of business, Cole flatters to decieve imo, to much of a Hesky which is possibly why Martin O Neill thinks he can get the best out of him. Behrami is worth way more than £5 mil, double it at least and I wouldn't want Bennayoun back, he seems to have gone backwards.

A Spurs ITK (not one with the best records it must be said) did say we were chasing a deal which saw O'Hara + cash for C. Cole.

I doubt it would happen. For one thing Harry keeps going on about this world-class "top, top player" and by most definitions of that C. Cole doesn't qualify. Especially when we've been linked with Dzeko and Huntelaar.

The Fabregas stuff still rolling on and on, hope it concludes soon. Also hope Wenger completes any signings before the World Cup.

O'Hara + quite a bit of cash and we should bite Harry's hand of imo.

Hasn't Chamak(sp) signed now, just waiting for the press conference IIRC

YAY. Another attacking player. Soon we'll have enough to play the 0 - 5 - 5 formation with a rush goalie. :D

What do you think about the reports that Avram Grant is taking the managers job?

Quite pleased and hope it's true, easily the best of the candidates.

I think the same, but i know a few West Ham fans think hes the wrong choice and would prefer someone who knows the club like Billic, Di Canio or even Pardew or Curbishly coming back.
