2 x towers (only one is used regularly)
1 x SFF PC (which will be a media centre when I get a new router, my current Linksys can't transfer data quickly enough).

Re: How many PCs does your household have?

I have one Desktop & Laptop here although there is another of each in our flat.
Son has a Desktop with recently kaput GFX so he`s been using a spare laptop for the last couple of weeks.
2 Oldest daughters have Netbooks while the youngest 2, and their mum, share a laptop set up in the sitting room for them.

It wasn`t that long ago i actually began using computers but it really wasn`t much long after that the wife found herself threatening to leave me if the number of computers i had ever outnumbered the 5 children we have.:D
If you count the 2 broken laptops out in the shed though then i`ve managed to double the number in question and she`s still here. It`s actually down on what it has been at times so she cant really complain eh.

6 laptops, 3 Acers, 2 Hi-Grades and an Advent.
1 desktop up and running, 5 working desktops but all up the loft since we got the laptops.

The definition of "PCs" is rather broader than I thought when I first read the question so...

In the house: two desktops, three laptops, three iPhones, one iPod Touch, a Nintendo Wii, a Nintendo 64, two Nintendo DS's, an HP iPaq. Plus whatever I'm repairing for friends and family at any given time.

In the loft: a desktop, an Amiga 500, a Dragon 32, a Binatone (the orange one with the twisty-knob controllers), a 48K Spectrum, a Mega Driv a PS1. I'd still like to add a C64 to this collection at some point... I've never had one. :)

Re: How many PCs does your household have?

2 Desktops in my Office (1 serves the media to everthing else)
1 Laptop
1 Netbook
1 PS3 (mainly used as media centre in lounge)
1 Wii
2 Xbox 360's
1 Xbox
1 iPhone

Pretty sure I've still got a Mega Drive somewhere.

And a 3rd desktop, currently on loan to a mate.

There's only 2 of us in the house, I guess I see why my electric bill is so high!!:D

Indeed.
I`m not even going there but suffice to say if i counted every console/gadget/phone my lot have it would surely double any previous count.:erm:

We are a relatively large family of course.

That should have probably been the first question.:)
It surely wont be too long before we`re all counting our cars, cookers & fridges too eh.

Or another question could be, how many extension cables have you needed to buy as you just don't have enough sockets!

We have the things in every room in the house practically, bar the kitchen.
All the kids rooms have 3 or 4 sockets but they still need the obligatory extensions and double adapters. Even my cubby hole here only has 2 main sockets so i have a 4 plug extension in each.
As far as the young un`s are concerned i have tried using less extensions, thereby forcing them to only plug in what they`re using at that moment in time, but this usually results in a completely unsafe mess as far as the cables are all concerned. The extensions, with the wiring tidied and secured, is the lesser of the two evils i`ve found.
I`m very very stringent when it comes to ensuring everyone has switched everything off at night or when not in use. I`m possibly over cautious due to witnessing the result of a fire in neighbours house many years ago. The Grandmother & her two Grandchildren could sadly not be rescued and the whole street heard the consequences.

I too am one for making sure everything is off at night. What is the point in wasting electricity!

For my PC and my Hifi setup I have bought some belkin surge protectors as they are too important to me.
