I think he has a point though, The media are hyping this up as as a rebuke to the PC bridge and it has happen every year without offensive caused to anyone.

Goes to show again that all these PC brigade stories are, fundamentally, made up. I ask again - why? Who seeks to benefit from stirring up trouble over nothing?

Not at all. St George is a racist figure and I'll explain why.

What's on the Welsh flag? A red dragon. What's the legend on St George? He slayed a dragon.

He's clearly a figurehead for an anti-Welsh and oppressing nation of England.

Did you expect anything different from the Daily Hate Damien? its their way of having one last pop at Livingstone, the sad part being that unless you live in London and know different, people are going to believe that in Boris "the good old Tories" have saved us all from the "loony left".
Then again as its in the DM hopefully people will think twice before swallowing it hook line and sinker.:D

Those sandal munching lentil wearing lefties at the BBC have apparently, er, fallen for the 'Boris invented it' line.

This is, of course, because they're under-resourced and badly led, rather than because they're biased.

Re: London St. George's Day celebration

This is what the BNP are spinning as 'Richard Barnbrook forces Boris to Celebrate St. George's Day':

Quote:

Question by Richard Barnbrook

Can the Mayor confirm how much funding he will be allocating to next years St Georges Day celebrations in London?

Answer by Boris Johnson

A GLA budget allocation of £100,000, the same as 2008, and subject to approval, is currently projected for St George’s Day celebrations in 2009.
So Boris is spinning his backside off when he's doing no more than Livingstone did last year, and the BBC are abjectly awful at reporting the news.
